So now there is a house icon when in a house, what does it do? it was added last patch but i saw no mention.

It tells you that u are immune agianst cold and heat, would be my guess as thats its primary function when it comes to ways u cna die in this game.

The icon has always been there...it tells you that you're in your own house/properity. It doesn't stop the weather from effecting your stats.

Tells you that you are sheltered. As mentioned, the elements have less of an effect on you and rain doesn't come in. It doesn't make you immune but there seem to be different temperatures inside than outside.

If you see the house icon then you are in, what the game determines, a designated shelter. If you are too close to an open door, this effect is negated.

If it's freezing outside, you will only be cold inside. If you are overheating outside, you will be warm inside. Cold outside, no effect inside. Warm outside, no effect inside.

I don't think that's working correctly for me then...cause I still overheat in my own house.

You will still feel warm, but you shouldn't be overheating. Another thing to look out for is how much/ what type of armor you're wearing. Heavily insulated armor will make you overheat.

Out of curiosity, can you start losing health from overheating and exhausting yourself? a friend and I were chopping wood to get our houses set up in a different area, and started losing health, we were full on food and water, and i had like half stamina left. It stopped after we stopped moving after a few minutes.

It does for hypothermia..so yeah probably.
