Fix Food Consumption
It seems like in one of the recent patches they made a change to food consumption
this is a growing problem and is a little annoying considering most of my tribe (8+ guys including myself) spend ten minutes getting food just to last us 30 seconds, realistically a person doesnt eat every 30 seconds to 2 minutes and upgrading your food doesnt seem to help but let you consume more ammounts of food, im level 38 already and my biggest problem is surviving cause i dont have enough food. currently you deplete .2 food every second after you start sprinting or gathering resources. this consumtion rate just makes farming resources annoying, especially when you cant move normally cause you got hit by a dinosaur when your hungary and cant regenerate your health. hopefully this will get fixed, thanks

At the moment, you pick and eat berries so that you can survive long enough to... pick and eat more berries. Berries need to restore 3-5 food instead of 1.5. This would fix most of this problem.

Food really isnt a problem. I can live off from berries alone. Meat is even better. Common mistake people make is running out of stamina. Running and such depletes stamina but also increases your hunger much faster. Also too cold/warm has the same effect. Just watch your stamina and temp and you are ok.

So if you have a shortage of food, you just dont understand the game mechanics.

@hiron depeleting your stamina bar once causes your food to deplety all the way and as i said once you start dieng you farm 10 minutes for 30 seconds of food thats really unrealistic and annyoing im far sure of game mechanics as ive already reached level 40

Sorry to say but thats kinda bs. You say that to refill your stamina from 0-100 your hunger depletes the whole bar? i dont think thats true. Even if it was, you must have been frozen to death AND wacking on a tree while walking. Even then I doubt it depletes your whole food bar to refill stamina. Im lvl 30 and I dont have food problems.

When you've died, and you wake up on a beach with nothing, and there's a cold spell or similar event, you can't even subsist if you're picking berries 100% of the time. This is an extremely frustrating situation, one entirely different from occasionally leaving your established base to pick a few hundred berries.

@hiron consider yourself lucky then. The food consumption is messed up right now. It drains too fast and I feel like I can't do anything in the game without stockpiling food which lasts me 5 minutes AT MOST. I think berries need to provide some more food. I think the system as of now is somewhat messed up.

There is a bug with food where it drops suddenly and it seems to be a UI bug at most. Your UI shows as hungry, but you really aren't. It happens to my brother every single time when I watch him play.

I've noticed eating cooked meat seems to keep me full a lot longer than berries. I just wish cooked meat didn't spoil so damn fast.

@hiron as i do normal things that are necessisary to continue on progressing in the game, ive found that your food bar depletes after gather simply 75-100 wood aswell as sprinting from tree to tree, this takes me a matter of 45 seconds - 2 minutes and my food bar depletes fully twice after filling it with cooked meat, i also wear full chitin armour and cannot seem to stay warm in a normal tropical area

Just tested. Ran around. Gathering stuff. Not even 1/5 of my health depleted after all stamina used.
Server bug?

Regenerating 100 stamina costs like 8 food and water, also costs a ton to heal health after being hit. Hide and higher armor actually has negative heat insulation, descriptions even say it's warm.

Its Cold -> more Food cost less Water
Hot > more Water cost less Food
EX Jun 8, 2015 @ 12:21am
@higherflyer15 its food not health

My group made the fatal mistake of building a base in a cold location... Our days are spent gathering meat and only meat. ARK: Meat Farming Simulator.

The differences between hot v cold are stupidly unrealistic and overbearing. The food system needs to be seriously more forgiving.
