just turn brightness up on screen
Ashar Jun 6, 2015 @ 5:59am
its all ready at max brightness. Besides, durign the day outside its prefectly fine, very bright, but inside its gets dark, and at night, its pitch black, i cant see anything, the moon light does bugger all.

BTW im using a CRT, i have a neurological condtion that prevents me from using LCD/Plasma screens, so i dont have a backlight, only basic brightness settings.

Most games dotn make it so dark at night, i know they are going for realism, but i cant do alot at night, having to keep swtichign between my torch, and using my otehr tools/weapons in pitch black is not fun, so i cant play much at night,

only thing i can suggest then is use a torce until they add more lighting

ummm...press tab, type "gamma 3" with no quotation marks, problem solved. To change it back to default type gamma 2.2.

You can crank gamma all the way you want, if the picture is supposed to be black all you'll get is a 'lighter' black. The night in this game is just that dark.
Craft torches, that's their entire point.

Jlance has the right idea. Best way to go about it.
Just make sure to redo it when you log on each time, because it will reset.

+1...I don't want to have to re-adjust my monitor every time I want to play the game/go back to desktop

Learn to craft those standing torches and place em next to you and you can see, problem solved...

No you're suppose to craft one of the many light sources in the game and use them... There is no artificial light on the island, its gonna be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dark.

but my tribe members can still see things at night, even shapes would help, but everything is just black, and sure the torch lights up a small area around me, but if i go more than a few metres from my base, i get complety lost, the game is unplayable for me at night.

no it is not supposed to be that dark.
he probbably turned off all dx11 stuff to boost fps. (like i did) and that makes the night go from manageable to absolutely pich black.

cranking the gamma used to fix this but now that is no longer possible.

gamma 5,gamma 3,gamma 4
whatever you type it does nothing.
where it used to be able to turn night into day

remove the -d3d10 command line from your launch options.
when i added that my night's turned pich black.
and the torch barely lit up anything

I concur this is in fact a problem I saw. Testing it now, without those options so black you stand there with a fire lit and torch just to stay warm, and hop something doesn't crawl up on you lol
