On the other hand, if you mean that the dino doesn't turn and just keeps walking straight - try pressing K. The K button (by default) is cinematic camera, and this locks your heading in a straight line, allowing you to move the camera to look around without your mount turning. As I recall, if you have it on when on a dino then jump off the dino, your player character defaults back to the normal cam, but you will be put back in cinematic when jumping on a dino again, so that might be what's happening here.
---- Yes , i couldve worded it better tbh ^^' what i meant was '' i can only turn left /right with the mouse whilst holding w, i cant turn left/right with w+a or w+d --
ive tried pressing K and its stayed the same (cant turn l/r whilst holding w).. _-
I remember being able to before
Oh right, I see what you are saying. Yes, you are correct that in one specific circumstance you can look around on the back of a creature and use A and D to turn it. But that specific circumstance is only when you have a weapon drawn. Pull out a gun or melee weapon and you will be able to aim and fire while riding the dino with WASD. But of course that only works with smaller dinos that allow you to pull out a weapon on their backs. Larger creatures like rexes have never had that option.
Left and right is with the mouse, been like this for as long as I can remember.
