Baryonyx's

Baryonyx's have to be the most frustrating ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ creatures on the face of the planet. Lost a level 50 pteranodon and almost lost a level 76 Argey to a level 1 because I didnt know about the dumb confusion mechanic or whatever they inflict. Then on my second attempt on a Spino tame another baryonyx killed me and the Spino. I came prepared for the tame and everything with like 75 narcotics and a bunch of prime meat and lost all of it to this stupid creature with its even dumber confusion mechanic.

The Spino was trapped in ice water which is why I was able to even try to tame it and when I jumped in to feed it more narcotics the Baryonyx was hiding in the water and instantly attacked me and ate my spino which had all my narcotics in it. Actual hours of work lost between the leveling of my Pteranodon and all that Narcotic crafting and how much time I had invested in that Spino all to two low level Bary's. Actually livid.

I don't get why they can spam the ability that's what bothers me. You wait the 8 seconds or whatever for it to end and then they instantly re stun you xD

That is the very thing that makes them such great tames. Tame a mating pair and then breed a pack and take them with you everywhere you go. They will take care of you.

Wild ones are a pain but tamed? They are destruction. They can destroy alpha megalodon and do very well on land and in caves too. Barys are super underrated tames. Bring an army of them in the ocean and just wreck stuff.

If you tame and breed Baryonyx's you won't need a Spino, at least for the ocean. If your planning to do boss fights then that's different. But the Baryonyx while not everyone's favorite has to be the one of the best tames on the island hands down.

Want to go into the ocean, you can stun your enemies. Low on health? Slay a fish instantly to gain a portion of health back. Can go into most caves, check, does the cave have tunnels filled with water even better. In the wild they are annoying avoid or kill outside of the water. The only downside to tame Bary's is that they only eat fish.

I agree that they can be a pain in the wild, but I also echo what many above said that they are fantastic tames.

In the wild, drag them on to land before you get too close. They can only do their tail swipe stun in the water, so on land they're much weaker.

Yeah dino's have mechanics, it would be pretty dull if all they did was a standard attack

Suggest you just get on with it otherwise you will be back here creating a similar thread for Raptors, Ichthyornis, Pegomastax, Troodon, Thylacoleo.......I could go on.

the Baryonyx is susceptible to the bola. stay out of the water. lure it onto land a bullet/arrow. bola it. poke it with a stick. they make incredible tames. but they arnt that hard to kill if you take them out of their advantage.

Actually they changed that recently. You used to be able to bola them, but bolas don't work on them any more.

Ok, now that Ive had a long while to calm down I really want to tame one now. Them being an absolute pain in the rear could work in my favor if I got my own and leveled it. Especially with what your all saying.
