Dying in Lava

So it happens that i died in lava recently. Anyone knows what happens with the loot bag/corpse..is it possible to get your items back after dying in lava?

i have tested in lava of valguero, there are few weeks. it s possible but you need to build the best armor with the fire higher resistance and with the fire resist food + food for regen life. you have the time to enter in lava pick you body and go out. All of this in 2 minutes if i remember.

This is a very old thread, but since it has been brought back I will just post another solution which people have not yet mentioned, in case others are looking for answers in future:

If you're using a building mod like Structures Plus or Super Structures and have line-of-sight on the body, the transfer tools from those mods can be used to transfer the contents of the death cache to a nearby storage box or dino inventory, or perhaps even back into your own inventory.
