This is presumeing you are playing single player...

Your local saves are at the address below, just copy paste them in a folder when you want to keep them for later. If you want to return to that point in time just copy and paste those files back (overwrite) at the below location.

Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal

To answer your question though Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal
is still where you will find your saves. Unless you have a dedicated server you pay for the saves are on the PC hosting the non dedi or SP games.

But to answer your question, non-dedicated servers are basically single player. So It saves in the same place as mentioned above.

What how tell me more we dont have a save will this help me to get everything back including charicter data
