Arrow indicating wall sides now that we can flip them?
Is there going to be an indicator of which is the inside and outside of a wall, now that we will be able to rotate them when placing them?

Also, how is this going to work with Fence foundations? are we going to be able to rotate walls on those, since this is really where most of the problems with walls facing the wrong way comes into play? Could we put an arrow or some indicator on the fence foundations as well, so we can place them so they are facing the correct direction?

Apparently either Soon for wall flip option (maybe 207 patch) forgot where i read it. But this could fix that issue as well, it does get really really annoying especially when no matter what you do a ceiling or a wall wont orient the same way as its surroundings.

it does say in the 207 patch notes that this is coming, thats why i bring it up. The only thing is, is that its pointless for us to be able to flip the walls before placing if we still dont have any idea of which side is which. You cant really tell from teh green outline, so an arrow would help with indicating a side.

When placing a wall at the current, the 'hologram' version shows you which way the wall is facing, just look for the leadboards of the wall on the inside ' stone wall' in this example, mayhaps people can't see them due to graphics setting? I have always been able to see them, and have also just figured out the mystery for fence foundations, they to have a certain placing in which allows you to determine which way the wall is facing,... 400+ hours in and this revelation falls in my lap while I was building my most recent masterpiece. I will be posting a guide on this later hopefully. Lazyness < urge to do it :P

you can kind of see which way a wall is facing if you are right next to it, but when you are placing a higher section of wall, or something a distance away, it is much to difficult to see the direction, because you can see the leadboards no matter what direction the wall is facing.

And i can kind of tell which way to place the fence foundations as well, but it shouldnt be so difficult, when a small indicator would solve the problem completely. And now that we will be able to flip wall sections, they should just make fence foundations "universal" so that there isnt a side to them at all, make it so that they are the same no matter how you place them, and allow the user to flip the wall sections how they want.

What everyone else said. The easiest wall to check facing on is the hologram for the thatch wall; the rear side of it has a big X, and the front is a filled green graphic. I got into the habit of carrying one when placing fence foundations, just to check.

That makes sense, and i will have to try that, but you still have to guess on teh foundation placement, and then check if its right AFTER placement. making the fence foundations direction neutral would fix this, since we will be able to flip wall sections 180 when placing. I still think we need some arrow direction indicator for wood/stone walls though, as it will still be hard to see which directiont they are facing until you place them.

I have had walls perfectly set to place and they still fliped - we dont need a guide we need a fix ty.

perhaps if they just put a small hash mark or X on the left inside, it would solve all problems quickly, just have the X in the hologramish thing you see when placing, after you've snapped it. We'd know in a quick glance if the wall is facing the way we want, or if we need to flip it.

Maybe make the front and back of wall hologram different colors

Does the Arrow that floats over the foundations have to be enabled? I do not see the arrow when I play.

margalus I am referring to the arrow in this screen shot I took from a YouTubed tutorial. It hovers over the fence and wall foundations I have seen it in nearly every Tutorial I have watched. but is does not show up in either the PS version or my PC version, could it be a mod?? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155537311781590&set=a.485965521589.267912.834186589&type=3
