I _know_ I did the Tek Cave on official and got my Rex stuck on stalagmites (stalagtites?) on the floor and had to cryo it and throw it back out again, and it was regularly stated that you could use cryopods up to a point in the cave. But that was on PVE official and it's my understanding that changes have been made.
I was not able to duplicate this feat a few years later when I did the Tek Cave solo in single player.
As far as getting the dinos in without cryos, (Depending again on your settings) it might be possible to put foundations in front of the cave in the lava and allow your dinos a straight path into the cave.
You want them setup to follow in a congo line pattern with each dino following the one in front of it. Just directing them with whistles to a spot, or putting all of them on follow at once is a terrible idea.
I've also heard it's possible to put rafts in the lava and build foundations on that and just have them walk across that way.
Once inside, navigating through the cave with your dinos is of course one of the most challenging things about the cave in a small group. When I solo'ed it, I was lucky because there's no timer in SP, so I was able to take my time and take several hours getting them down and scouting each section of the cave.
Regarding the Purlovias, the answer here is the Yutyranus. You're going to want one in the Overseer fight anyways, and the Yuty will scare the Purlovias out of the ground.
I would also highly suggest that if you're allowed to transfer, a scout (even a low level one) is a great way to lure the Gigas into the lava.
Honestly, I haven't done the cave since the introduction of Carcs, so I'm not sure how that works.
To get your tames through the door on a dedicated server, Mathius' suggestion above about chaining them together is the way to go. When I did it I had three lines of rexes, each about 6-7 individuals long. As you walk the first one in stick to the left side wall as much as possible and the others should hopefully walk in in a relatively straight line behind.
However doing it on non-ded with the tether and separate zones may well affect that strategy, I've never tried that myself. Could see how it may make it a real pain yeah.
2) On dedicated, you can use a cryopod to put your tame away, but you cannot throw a pod out anywhere within the cave or the boss arena beyond (or a little way in front of the cave too, for that matter). But again, that's a dedicated server, not sure if the rules are different on non-ded or single player. Also not sure what mods affect it.
3) Yuty roar is one way to get pavlovas out of the ground, as mentioned above. Other options include grenades, rockets, and the tek rifle bolts.
