In all fairness, I think most of the creatures which were suggested were all somewhat OP to some degree or another, so none of them could be added directly as described by the person who submitted them...
I just would have loved to know their ideas first 'before' we got to vote though. Lord knows theyve had these beasts on their plates for years now.
So they'd have had enough time to think about it. :p
- There is a wall CLINGING (noch climbing) and you can camophlage then.
- You can use weapons both while fliying and cliinging to a wall. (that's the only second flyer, which allows weapon-use to the rider.)
- The screech scares away creatures, and gives a debuffs, so they take 20% more damage. Even big creatures like a therizinos are scared (just testet it)
- Lif-stealing is a mode which is activate through the reload-button. (by holding it, a wheel will apper, where you can turn on lifestealing)
- it seems, that a single bloodpack consumed by the creature will heal it fully.
- theer is a little bug, where the camera works different, after you were clinging to a wall... (you mus exit the game to reset this.)
- I don't know, how to activate the night vision, yet. It seems, this only works in darkness... (I didn't try the creature at night, yet.)
- you only have first person sight while clinging and it seems you aren't camophaged yourself... At least your weapons and hands aren't camophages. (may be a bug.)
Update: camophlage works in darkness. The source doesn't matter. (So it works in a dank forest as well as during night.)
It seems, there is no night-vision. BUT: the screech has an echolote and works quite a distance. You will sence living creatures. But you can't determine the threat of them. (lin comparison to the echolote of the parasaur.)
The crouch (normally a functrion-button for creatures) will descent the bat straight to ground. I suppose, this is also a bug...
Taming is easy. You'll need much less blodpacks than to tame a bloodstalker. I play SP, so I'm not sure, what you will need on officiial servers, But I think it's at least ten times less.
Plus, the desmodus can harvest blood packs from killed dinos. Also, ridiculously OP. I remember farming blood packs off my own character, using a snow owl to heal, for HOURS, in order to be able to tame one bloodstalker. To have a dino that can harvest blood packs? yes, please.
The Desmodus was (and maybe still is) a little bugged.
- first you only could activate night vision at night and when you were de-mounted (via radial menu) Now it functions still only through radial-menu, but also, when you're riding your bat. AND in caves. (This creature is always allowed in caves...)
- when you cling to a wall, your creature doesn't look up or down anymore, when you're flying up or down. (the camera and flight-directions as well as -speed still function, though) This is reset, when you log out, or ride another bat. (and happens again for the new one, when you cling to a wall with it.)
- I don't be sure, how the scream works... You will echolote other living creatures and you will do more damage. But maybe only at night.
- in caves. you can't camophlage during flight
- out of caves, you can - at night.
- nightvision out of caves only functions during night (starting with dusk, and until daawn ended, afai have seen.) And it persists, even if you de-mount. (because it's only activated through radial-menu.) You will see normal, if you de-mount, however. But as soon as you're riding again, night vision is again activated, if ti's still night. (or you're in a cave.)
- the bat does abnormal damage imho. nearly comparable to a wyven-bite. (Although I don't have a wyven at my SP-Game, yet...)
- crouch is a straight flight down, (without landing) x (normaly the air-brake) is a straight flight up. So this seems a feature, not a bug...
Well, Bloodstalkers don't exist on Fjordur. So you only need the bloodpacks for the desmodus. And they don't need very much. (at least ten times less, than a bloodstalker.)
The desmodus havests blood packs from every hit, depending on damage dealt. Not only from killed dinos.
I don't know, how the lifsteal works... you see a red buff, if you hit someone, whil lifestealing is activated. And you suck a creature for good, if you carry it, but it doesn't seem to speeden up your regeneration. You will heal a considerable amount of damage, if your creature eats one of the blood-pack, though. (you CAN''T force-feed them, and they have the usual 40 second-cooldown.)
BTW: careful, what you're saying. If you like the creature as it is, you shouldn't say it's OP.
And btw 2: why didn't you just use medical brews to heal? they're easily crafted just with tintoberries and narcotics in the cooking pot. (With S+, you even can make them in bulk, because only one waterskinn is used at a time. And who doesn't use S+...) Just the 5-second-cd for creating the BP is annoying, then.
But I think, there will be a nerf, soon, as always for creatures with good features.
Edit: one additional comment: the night-vision of the bat is a great way to explore the ocean. You can see cave-entrances and creatures without the dangers of that envirement. (A great way to locate Basilos, for example.)
The sea at this map is VERY dangerous. it's crawling with cindaria and eels... I lost several creatures because of that, including a turtle with over 10.000 health....
And near the basilos (at least at my game at the moment) is at least one leedsichtys, so it's also dangerous to explore with a raft. (Canoes can get attacked by Megalodons. Although, only if they start to attack you, when you're swimming or diving afai have seen.) They still target YOU, not the canoe, then, though. In SP, the canoe is a respawn-point without cd... (I died several times, by trying to get to my corpse. And everytime I was able to respawn at the canoe.)
