How to get black pearls on aberration?

I found a lot of black pearls on the bank of a purple river in a radioactive biome, how do I get them? I can't pick them up by hand, and I can't dig with a pickaxe. Yes, it's definitely him, but I can't pick him up. I play on a dedicated server on a local network (I'm the host) and before this with any resource this has not happened. I only have mods

Have you tried using the whip?

You should be able to gather them by hand, that's how we did it on our private server. If that isn't working, perhaps you have a mod which is interfering somehow?
