I love naming my dinos on movie characters, example raptor is 007 for his speed and efficience, while turles are transformers, out of fun. :D I even have a Titanosaur I named GodZilla due to her massive size :D
Peta: purple haze
Dodic: Kool aid (orange and purple)
Beaver :Woody
Had a pack of wolves all named after dogs i've had in me family in the past: "Max", "Tuxedo George", and "Lilith" (origionaly after the first woman, depending on which version you prefer)
Otherwise i tend to choose names that are clever or ironic.
I did name a pair of Dodos once: "Col. Sanders" and "Popeye"
And the first Rex i tamed (happened to be a low-level female albino) was affectionately named "Teeff" (teeth) I tend to use that name a lot with large teeth-monsters.
Although i rather like the direbears (can't seem to find any in Valhalla tho) had a female named "Princess" and a male named "Ben" (after the one in that old show Gentle Ben) and another female named "Winnie" (after the origional pooh-bear)

My 700 Pterodactyl, Fugi. Name Derived from the Latin word Fugite, meaning fly or flee.
My Elite Dilophosaurus (MOD) Venen (male) and Vena (Female). Derived from the Latin word "Venenum" meaning poison.
Now take note I use google translate as I dont speak Latin, so some of said words may not match the definition, but the names are good enough for me.
That is a pretty cool concept! I DO speak Latin (sadly), but I finaly found a purpose! Thank you so much :D
Chilli, Cheesecake, Cookie, Biscuit, Crackers, Oreo, Dorrito, and so on.
Not very original but it seems to work okay. Oreo the argent and Chilli the ptera are my faves atm.
I have a dilo named "Luna."
Scorpion is Ugly Betty
I used to have another named "The Christmas Scorpion" just because that is so wrong.
Sometimes if a dino has a lot of one stat, like health, or damage I"ll use that as inspiration.

On topic, I've got some new names for water dinos in addition to my previous post. I'm planning to call my next plessie tame Whitewater, and I want a mosa pair to act as bodyguards whom I'm gonna call Riptide and Maelstrom. And if ever I tame an angler I'll call it Abyss.
