I just wanted to know who's heard of a new dinosaur game called "The isle"?

Well, you've seen me and I've seen you in those discussions. I guess I want to hear a consensus from fellow ARK players. Haha, it is really promising- everyday I get more excited about it.

Didn't I read somewhere that it is by the same team that was developing another dino survival game (the name eludes me) and they went AWOL after reaching early access? Or maybe I misunderstood something, but The Isle is using the same dinosaur models that game was using.

Personally, I am more insterested in Far Cry: Primal. ;)

LOL the passive-aggression is strong in this thread.

That TSL and jig was the dev, he never paid anybody who worked on TSL. The Isle devs were some of the scam victims and Vlad sold his models since, well he never got paid, so the isle team owns them now and Vlad is working with them.

Okay? I didn't know I was being passive aggressive for asking a question to other people. ;3;

I bought it and it's pretty fun. Lacking in the content department but that doesn't make it any less fun. Barely in alpha or pre-alpha.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

This game is really stretching the pre-alpha title and paying for a game this early in development is pretty dangerous for consumers as there is hardly any guarantees this game will make it much further out. Don't get me wrong, I think it has some interesting ideas for features, but I won't be paying for ideas rather, but for actual implemented features. I was turned off by the devs for their forum responses basically calling Ark a joke which to me showed some sort of childish jealously. Ark isn't a perfect game, but there is a lot right with it and while it might not be the dino-purists dream game, it is still really solid and what it has accomplished in the 13-14 months it has been in development is way more impressive than what The isle has in its longer development lifetime and I get that information from the Isle devs who stated that they were knee-deep in development before Ark was, which was in response to people saying they were copying Ark. Good ideas, innovative gameplay, and a solid dev team gets attention and people jump on board. The Isle tried to do a Crowdfunder and that failed, which to me says that it needs more time in the oven before people will wholeheartedly support it. I wish them luck though and would buy it if and when it is fully realized.

heard of it, own it and have been watching it be developed on Twitch for months. the state of the game at present is NOTHING compared to what it is going to be... at present they are working on the dinos and will then begin putting in the human factions

I was streeming for a bit on the isle then i got flamed for KoS's., I suspected people of crashing my internet and laging me all because i was having a little fun as an evil raptor. Devs are kind of just as childish as the community....

i would say to you only to buy it if you have friends that already play it, cus solo gets old quick.

BTW how is Ark? :)

im thinking of getting Rust aswel cus i got some co workers that play it. maybe ill see you guys around some day too.

This plus being in development way before ARK doesn't help :/ I admit it has a few models going for it and some animations, but that's about it for me.
At the current state it's more of a "goat simulator". Run around, find bugs and laugh(basically every early access game before ARK). At least that's every Youtube video I've watched so far.

I've paid for way too many dino games, hoping they would be the next big thing. Never again.
