did they remove some achievement skins?

I played years ago, ran through the story and got the homoDeus skin, the gem removed from arm, all of it. I even had those purple-black corrupted skins.

Now when i play, i have a starting inventory full of all manner of event skins, and the corrupted helmet and sword, but not the other parts of it? As well as my favortite skin, homodeus is completely missing, and im back to having the implant.

i never uninstalled, and when i made new characters before they all took effect of that one. So im confused, where did it go? why do i have partials of some skins? I was explaining to my friends who used to play on servers that there was a story and skins and stuff related to finishing it, they didnt know since they really only played pvp at the time. i wanted to show them, loaded the game up, and was confused where half of my achievement based skins went. Did they rhetcon them? Ive seen other posts about them missing and 'needing to turn a option on in settings' what option? if its the starting inventory one i have it on, i start with all manner of weird dumb hats, outfits, event sets, ect cosmetics, its a whole damn inventory page long. But none of my favorites are there. Just the dumb sword and helmet of the the one, and none of the other.

I also cant load my character download in a singleplayer, it just no longer exists when making new survivors now i take it. Does that relate to it? do i need to forever keep a character that beat the game and did all the stuff just to keep my implant upgrade and my skins? Despite all that work??

Skins for game achievements, and ones for promotions like the Aberration sword and helmet, are available to all characters from the moment they are created. But ones which are unlocked by completing story goals, such as the corrupted set for locating 'One Who Waits' explorer notes, or the Deus one for beating the King Titan, are character specific - they will only respawn in the inventory of characters who have completed those goals, not in the inventories of other characters made by the same player. If you want them on a character who hasn't completed those goals, you would have to use admin commands to spawn them in. As far as I'm aware this has always been the case, I don't recall a time when they appeared in the inventory of any new character.

As to your second issue - what do you mean by 'can't load my character download'? Are you trying to load your savegame, or trying to download a character from the obelisk? If the former, what happens when you try to load - do you get any crashes or anything? And if the latter, anything stored in the obelisk is saved in a separate file on your computer, so if you haven't made any changes to those files the character should still be there, but a number of issues can cause that file to corrupt and the stored items/dinos/characters to be lost...

im going to guess the files got corrupted cause i went and checked my obelisk, and theres nothing in it now. i never uninstalled my stuff, and my files are where they were before. I was trying to load the character data, and it was showing empty like there was nothing there even though the files still existed, so i walked all the way to a obelisk on a new character and sure enough its completely empty.

welp.

i dont really want to do all that again. oh well. it was cool while it lasted.
