Do I need the Genesis Season Pass for 100%? Thanks!

Every single achievement you get on the Island except the one for beating the center bosses which you get on the center and is a free map

You need the Genesis Season Pass for the HLN-A skin and you need the skin for scanning bugs in caves and you need the bugs for the Perfect Explorer achievement, so in short: yes.

But you can also unlock the Explorer Notes and Dossiers with a mod or command, so if you have nothing against cheating to complete your achievement you don't have to buy the Season Pass.

as far as I remember HLNA dossiers are not included in the achievement.

like Dj DNA mentionned all achievements were made to be doable while just buying the base game (since the center is a free dlc). it was before wildcard got bought so they did not had that cashgrab policy imposed by snailgames.

I don't recall the HLNA dossiers being required for the achievement either.. though I admit I did complete the achievements before Genesis came out, so they may have retroactively added them as a requirement, but I don't think they did.

It IS needed, I can tell because I got all Dossiers and Explorer notes along with the Extinction Chronicles and I don't got the achievement.
That was only short after the Genesis Season Pass was released.

The requirements for the Perfect Explorer changed at the same time when the Season Pass came out and it changed again when the Carchardontosaurus and Rhyniognatha were released.

Today you need for the Perfect Explorer achievement:

All Explorer Notes on The Island
All Dino Dossiers (including Carchar and Rhynio)
The Extinction Chronicles notes (only from The Island)
The HLN-A notes you can get by scanning glitches in caves (only from The Island)

No offense, but as someone who failed more than once to get the missing notes for the achievement before an update came out that changed the requirement, I can tell more than anyone what is needed for Perfect Explorer and because I got this achievement on the 4th March 2024 and no "real" updates came since that date, this is what you need now.

Same with explorer notes. In game, I had collected every single one (on the island base game map), and neither the achievement nor 10+ max levels triggered. They were literally all there in my handbook as unlocked and I was diligently checking them off on a list. I realized last night there are hidden HLN-A notes with your little scanner after purchasing the genesis DLCs, and that there are hidden notes on The Island. Since i hadn't purchased genesis yet, I didn't have those notes. wondering if those notes are whats keeping the achievement/max level from triggering?

You only need the Dossiers, and Notes you can get on the Island and no other maps.
That includes Extinction Chronicles, HLN-A notes, Dossiers (Carchardontosaurus and Rhyniognatha too) and all Explorer Notes from all Characters on The Island.

Yes, they changed the requirements for achievements, especially for this one.
I started the game 2020 and I collected the Dossiers and Explorer Notes on the Island not short before the Genesis Season Pass was released.
The last notes I needed for this achievement were inside the Tek Cave and Overseer Arena so I had to prepare well to make it to that point.
Just a few days before I got them The Season Pass released with wich you also need the
HLN-a notes now, so bad luck for me and I had to buy the Season Pass for the HLN-A Skin (or cheat, but that was no option).
To the time I purchased the Genesis DLC, the Carchardontosaurus and the Rhyniognatha was released, so I was standing there a second time wondering why it did not unlock the achievement after I also got all HLN-A notes on The Island.
I checked if I got them all...
all Dossiers - yes
all Notes - yes
all Extinction Chronicles on The Island - yes (because they are also needed since the launch)
So the only one that was missing was the Rhyniognatha Dossier which you only get from breeding one.

It's possible, got the achievement before HLNA notes were a thing so if you say they are now needed then obv GEN season pass is mandatory.

I'm a little surprised about the Extinction Chronicles, but the thing is that you need the Genesis Season Pass for this achievement and forget about that little part from above.
