Lost Island is a map which started out life as a Workshop mod, but was adopted into the game as official, much like The Center, Ragnarok, Crystal Isles et al. At the time it was added a number of the game's assets were edited to facilitate it's inclusion, and because of these assets being changed, their names were adjusted to say 'LostIsland' in them. So some of the textures and code, including things like spawn containers as I recall, now say LostIsland in them, even though the map they are on was released before the Lost Island map was a thing. It could well be that the actual release build of the game at the time was also internally titled LostIsland, as seems to be evidenced by that file path snippet you mentioned.
However all of these references were added after the fact, at the time the mod map was included in the game. Prior to that map appearing, LostIsland was not referenced in the game in any way to my knowledge. 'TheIsland' is indeed one of the maps, in fact the very first one which was included in the game, and for a long while after it released in Early Access it was the only map the game had.
No matter the name of the folder is still remained largely meaningless to us as end users and was always a red herring to troubleshooting problems.
As others have already said, "lost island" is not the name of the game originally. It's not a conspiracy, and not a sherlocke holmes locked door mystery.
As others have explained, its just part of Wildcard's file naming convention and not related specifically to UE4 error code reports in a manner that reflects the actual meat of the error.
Correlation does not equal causation in other words.
Years before lost island we had other file path naming conventions too such as crystal isles and valguero. You can go back farther in searches to see that for yourself.
If you're experiencing a crash yourself though, remember that crashes are symptoms and not causes. Diagnostically then to help better narrow down what possible cause(s) and potential solution(s) can be had one should endeavor to:
1. Copy paste their full UE4 crash error report.
2. Go to the steam help menu, click system information, and then copy paste all that here so we can specifically see what steam detects for your rig and any potential discrepancies that may have relevance.
3. If using mods, list all mods by name and the specific load order for those mods.
If you try read the first post in the thread, you will see we shouldn't ever see that name.
You just have to spam for these lists in every post ever made?
Because several things you claimed are wrong. Really wrong.
Your post may have given the impression regarding a crash and I simply said "if" to then provide diagnostic information.
I recognize you're rather unhappy about the file naming conventions and other things, but you're being a bit silly, really.
