Dinos and food types.

This is basically just for information. but also if anyone got a special I haven't in notes yet, will appreciate if you will share it.

Dinos eat different things. Kids are even more particular, this is for adults. In order to keep everyone fed you can need multiple troughs even. Remember to also add Tek, X, R, Ice etc types to each trough. Not sure if you need S+ (or derivative) for the trough in- and ex-clusion on Tek. And note I am doing the standard Ark way of calling anything for dino, weather a dinosaur or not.


Main Trough, EXcluding Daeodon.
Raw Meat / Raw Fish: Meat Eaters, All Eaters.
Mejoberries*: Veggie Eaters, All Eaters.
Stone / Sulfur: Rock Golem.
Chitin: Archaeopteryx, Sinomacrops


Fish Trough**, INcluding: Otters, Baryonyx.
Raw Fish: Otters, Baryonyx.


Daeodon Trough, INcluding Daeodon***:
Cooked Prime Meat / Cooked Meat: Daeodon


* or Amar, Azul, Tinto -berries, for half food per berry. To my knowledge all dinos that eat any berry, eat all 4 types.

**The reason you need separate fish trough is that Meat Eaters eat Raw Fish before Raw Meat, so unless you feed only with fish, everyone eats up the fish, then the Fish Eaters starve to death while the Meat Eaters eat up the Raw Meat.

*** Or allow all, others eat this last, the point is to not let Daeodon eat the Raw Meat for like no food = eat ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ even without doing healing.

Good list, but no, vanilla troughs do not have include/exclude lists, so as you said Structures Plus/Super Structures or another derivative is needed to have such power. If people aren't using one of those (why would you not be, people?!), every creature will eat out of every trough they are within range of, which is particularly awkward for piscavores because normal carnivores will eat up all the fish meat first as it gives less hunger than raw meat. Then when the fish is gone, the other carnivores will move on to other meats, but the fish eaters will starve.

So if you are playing vanilla, keep your meat eaters and fish eaters far apart on different troughs, or feed every creature which eats some kind of meat on fish, and just keep that stocked up permanently.
