Will ARK ever feature something like sailing in large ships/naval combat/waves/etc...

Basically, will ARK ever feature a true on top of the water experience rather than just underneath? For instance, will I one day be able to have a ship and and participate in naval combat in hostile weather, while traveling from island to island.

Something like that. Excuse me if this has been asked before, but it's been some time since I've been a part of the ARK community and I haven't been keeping up with the news and what's coming any longer.

That's something I'd love to see someday too. My perfect game would basically be Ark mixed with AC: Black Flag

You can already build a "ship" and also have battles with others if they have built armed "ships" also... No hostile weather, and not going from island to island since there is only one island..

Have you looked into the 'Pirate World' mod at all? I haven't actually played it but I've seen pictures of pirate ships that seem large enough for naval battle.

I do think that there should be multiple boats like canoes, ect available earlier and the raft itself moved back to later game. Being able to travel with a Rex on a boat a lvl 15 is rather overpowered....

Talking about FUTURE plans, which can also include new maps.

they already confirmed more boats, starting with aspeed boat, will most likley come with the tek tier

Pirate is fun but boats arent really used at all on servers with flyers, and the one i was on that had them disabled was fairly low pop and was shut down.

Yeah, my raft was retired as soon as I secured an Argent. That might change with additional islands particularly if they're fairly distant. Might also make the Compass/GPS a bit more useful.

i tried to use the wooden raft to make it look like a ship by using the building parts.
it looking good but hit the limit of parts on the platform :( so if it involving to build the ship with parts to craft so you can make it as longer as you like and wider as you like enough to put 2 or 4 T-rexes on board or groups of raptor army in one ship, industral purpose collecting materials as you sail around the island, store it in the ship and craft the stuff you wanted to make and travel back to your base (as long you made it back in one peace).
the game is awesome and enjoyable, just thought they could work on the boat/ship crafting project after the release of the new map?

Good luck with that,
they crippled building on plattforms since like beginning,
added water plagues to "clean" the raft mess when there where "to many"..
.. i wouldn t count on anything in this direction.

Ark is a modded and customized content focused game. That said there are some modded maps that are with high water to land ratio's and mods out there as cited above that give you lots of ship and raft building options.
