Paint brush *cough*
Obviously you are unable to read, so I won't bother responding to you in too much detail as it will probably fall short of your understanding.
It is not acceptable to make people paint 100+ things manually, often with multiple colours, in an underwater environment. Its tedius, its boring, and it totally subtracts from any fun factor the game has in that scenario.
The fact that underwater bases are going to be a thing in the near future as well, really begs the question of why underwater painting on a mass/simpler scale has not been implemented yet.
@Dracul - Looks similar to my depth for pillars that screeny! Would drive me mad lol :p
The problem is I'm sure they expected most people to build reasonably and not use 500 pillars.
Considering anything more than a few feet off the shoreline has a stupidly deep dip, the pillar count will go quite high. 500 was probably a bit of an exaggeration, its probably more like 250. The amount doesn't really matter in any event. However, if I choose to build a bridge from carno island to the shores again, then that will be an insane amount of pillars.
Whether the devs expected people to be land based entirely and not use pillars or be creative, I couldn't answer. The fact is, people are going to be creative with base builds, and people don't want to spend hours painting pillars 1 by 1.
Your response also doesn't really defend the devs in any manner (which I assume you were trying do). Whether it is 10 pillars or 500 pillars, or somewhere in the middle, the fact remains that painting them 1 by 1, with a pop up screen every time, in multiple colours for some people, is an insanely stupid way of having to do it. They added the spray gun for this very reason. There is no logical reason to not have a way of doing it underwater. Make a paint roller if realism is a key point.
Your reply, along with Gadzooks, do not help this discussion in any manner to providing a meaninful solution to a clear issue with the paint/build mechanics.

You must be new to Ark, welcome to the game. There's an awful lot of good in it, but also an awful lot of what you describe too...
