Rexes don't fit into Island Tek Cave anymore?
Seems i am bumping into a lot of outdated information regarding tackling the tek cave solo.

Like using conga line of Rexes (which can't fit through the door) or wiki stating one can throw cryopodded giga from outside and use it inside the cave which is also not possible - tried from various angles where the game allows to use cryopod near the door.

Before i try breeding and saddling Theris instead .. can they actually fit inside? Or will they get stuck at the door like Rexes.

Also i read that cryopods can be used just used before boss at the end of the cave. Is that still true or false?

Also any up to date suggestions are welcomed.

EDIT: Nevermind Rexes can fit just had to ride them inside one by one instead struggling to coordinate a conga line without them getting stuck.

you can look at many many many different videos of the tek cave, and people using rexes.
personally though, I prefer gliding down through the cave with a glider suit and skipping that part entirely, then killing overseer with shotguns. If you're not going to take rexes but still want to walk through i recommend something to protect you from purlovias.

Okaaay on side note my game crashed 3 times in a row at the tek cave entrance..

Once when i tried to coordinate the rex conga to get inside one more time.

And twice when i tried to head back to the tek cave entrance after i decided to grab some additional supplies.

Always right at the entrance.
Is the game fighting back? Trying to prevent me from doing the Tek cave? xD

Hahaha even carchas can go to tek cave without cryopods, except overseer arena

Yes they fit

Are you playing solo on server settings or on SP settings? If the former, you may have difficulties clearing the cave and getting a Rex team through before Alpha timer expires. I prefer to clear with mated Rexes and bring a 10 Zino team through as they are easier to conga line through. Usually teleport up with less than 5 minutes left on the Alpha timer.

Of course if SP settings, none of the above matters.

Ok it was just me poorly managing my conga they can fit i had to manually ride them through one by one before door closed.

Anyways for future reference where actually can i uncryo my dinos before overseer?

I seen some mentions that one can do that at the last section before overseer cave but i was not able to uncryo my spare dinos anywhere within the lava cave and anywhere within the overseer cave (i occassionally tried to uncryo while strolling through and at the somewhat obvious sections like the forcefield and teleporter and before the boss room etc cause i wasn't sure where)

And yep SP settings so no beat timer.

You can't uncryo anywhere beyond the tek cave door (and a little way in front of the door too if I recall). You can store creatures into cryopods at any point, but you can't release any from pods.

Ah damn so it was just outdated info or something? Something about being able to uncryo dinos st the ramp leading to Overseer seen mentions of that in older posts.

Anyway i need to change my strategy cause:

-Rexes BARELY fit i have to struggle hard to bring them all in in time without them all getting stuck at the door.
-The more Rexes inside the harder it is to coordinate and keep them from commiting lava suicide.
-Can't uncryo anything before Overseer so even if i speedrun the cave i will get wrecked by the boss because i arrive alone without any backup.

When I did it in my solo game, I had my rexes in three lines (six each plus one of seven) and rode my yuty. I went ahead and used weapons, roar, and yuty bite to clear the path, running most stuff into lava if possible. Then ran back and brought the rexes forward one line at a time. Because there's only six per group it makes them easier to handle than if they're all in one line or in two groups. And if you take every turn very wide so they don't run into the walls, and walk when turning, only running when on a straight path, then runaways can usually be avoided.

Don't forget to use all tactics at your disposal. For example many forget about advanced items like pheromone darts (I legit almost mistyped that as 'pheromone farts'), but they can come in clutch in some cases. And things like explosives, tek rifles or even yuty roars to get purlovia out of the ground.

About Purlovias in Tek Cave.
They were all out ouf the ground when i entered the cave they were just chilling not attacking unless i came like few centimeters close to them. Then they "woke up" from their catatonic state lol.

Anyway Tek Cave is really tedious to do solo i lost my patience a little and used "refillstats" and "ghost / walk" few times cause screw horrible pathfinding and lava suicides.

I've done the tek cave 4 or 5 times in singleplayer. I follow Phlinger Phoo's strategy, take 2 rexes, mate boosted. 4 if you're not feeling confident. Then take one or two yutys followed by 20 theris and 20 allos, more if you have the time to breed/manage. But in my experience 20 each are more than enough for alpha given they're levelled with decent stats. Just ride one of the rex with another on follow to clear the cave and once you've cleared a large section walk the conga line down. Having chains of 11 dinos (one leader with 2 groups of 5 following it) makes it very easy to manage the walk down, and keep them on low follow distance and don't run with the leader, walk slowly. And since you clear the area on the rex it makes it simple to handle the purlovias (either yuty roar or a rocket to the burrow).
