Boycott Studio Wildcard
I think it's high time everyone just bands together in actively NOT buying into their "remastered" burning trash heap of a game. It's one thing to revamp the graphics and overhaul the game to cater more towards the lore and canon leading into the sequel and release that all as an update to the existing game.. it's another thing entirely to basically "recreate" the original game, slap a full price tag on it and the subsequent DLC JUST to milk your fans. Get it together and come up with a new business model.

If anyone actually buys Ark: Ascended, I'll be floored that anyone would be so insanely mindless. Support Ark 2, not this "new" bs they're trying to peddle out for sheer selfish intent. A: No one asked, and B: Ark 2 is only delayed BECAUSE they realized they can "hopefully" get away with reselling the original game with a graphics update.

What about entirely new players who just found about ark. If they buy the ark ascended version, are they "mindless".

Yes, because they don't understand what the developers are trying to do. Ark is a flagship game, it's the basis for everything going forward. Videos, Screenshots, Clans, Servers, etc.. all wiped because they want to "remaster" it and give it a new name, and slap a price tag on it instead of just giving the existing game a DLC update that is elective to people who've sunk endless hours and years into a game they're effectively shutting down.

On the other hand

This is technically the natural order of games that rely on Servers.
They would have been shut down at some point anyway.

Calls people "mindless"and gets on an intellectual high horse.
Unironically calls himself Rick Sanchez.
Hardly surprising.

It's the best thing wildcard can do, give us fresh ark island and scorched without the messed unbalanced power creep dlc. After experiencing the so called arc official cheater community no tears are given to the community full of exploiters and cheaters losing everything. Official servers being up for only 5 years with a very active community is pretty poor but most games don't expect that lifespan. Just expect 5 years of ark 2 official as well. I've survived the official wipe of early access to release I'm sure you will too.

You're all waaay too late to the party, I stopped buying once we hit the rainbow coloered tech bullsh*t... all of the final addons, the tech diharea were gifted to me by friends and I got like 50h in those compared to 4k in the prehistoric versions.

Wildcard is another example of a company who 100% does not comprahend what their game is about and why people bought it.

let me spell it out for all the smooth brains at wildcard

D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R .... not flying tech dragons... you blithering f***ign ******

You do realize, that at some point, this will all just be old history.

And when new players ask about it, they'll get told a bunch of people got butthurt about the new version. And if they think that sounds too harsh, one of the butthurtees will start unloading a nice long rant of vitrolic nonsense, and 20 other burthurtees will join in... and the new players will realize oh boy, yeah, these butthurt people are nutters. Right nutters.

But, oh, I'm sorry. I'm distracting from your boycott. Please, do carry on.

Oh yea..... you're totally right, /sarcasm, just like with World of warcraft were the Vanilla/ WOTLK days were just talked about as ''history'' and how ''a bunch of people got butthurt''... not in the way it actually happend back in reality where blizzard almost f'ing died because of their WOW blunder and LITERALLY were forced by their community to go back to the vanilla days... You remembner that one? Were they just talked about it as if it was history and a bunch of butthurt players... are you even old enough to remember that? Is what I want to know given your stance on this issue.

But, oh, I'm sorry. I'm distracting from you downplaying a boycott...

lmao, you don't know wtf you're talking about.

Go on, pay them another 100$ so you can replay the EXACT same buggy mess that has been Ark since the start. There is no reason to assume that they would fix ANYTHING in the game so buying this UE5 version is just braindead.

They actually did pretty well with optimization over the years, so cant say i agree with the buggy mess statement.

What would you point to as a well executed opitmization of an issue of mechanic that wasn't functioning well before and now works well? Please, take your time.

Dont know if you were here at the beginning
But Optimization and Resource usage was TERRIBLE for the first 2 or 3 years.

Oh you're talking about how the game used to not be able to handle 20 players doing sh*t in the same area? Yeah, I guess they fixed that... ? Well... not really but let's pretend they did anyways :D

Crazy to think people will Boycott for a Free remake when Buying Ark 2.
🦊 Hermit Apr 6, 2023 @ 3:06am
Some people do not want Ark 2, but aren't being given a chance to get the remaster without it...

I understand perfectly well what the developers are trying to do. What we don't understand is the details to the why. We don't know the interplay between Snail Games and Ark. Considering we are talking about under 100 dollars this is not a hill worth dying over for. On my accounts I've spent over 6,000 hours in the game. I don't mind starting again and find being adaptable a good trait in humans and those that are not go the way of history. It was the same complaints when ark beta was wiped. Never invest in something you can't control and as you will eventually lose it. Expectation management is key to happiness.

Boycotting a video game only reveals you ain't got a whole lot going on in your life. With that said, I just bought Ark and all the DLC's for a friend. :) Go touch some grass and quit typing paragraphs on steam.
