"we’ve decided to delay the launch of ARK: Survival Ascended to later this year and ship the title on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in October 2023."

"Scorched Earth will be coming to ASA in December this year, Ragnarok and Aberration will follow in Q1 2024, and the rest of the maps beyond then."

"ARK: Survival Ascended will now be launching at an Early Access price point of $44.99 with a launch-discount bringing it to $39.99."

And it was confirmed in an earlier news item that this price will include the DLC maps too.

You're better off waiting until the new release in October for ASA (ARK's remake) to get the whole game.
The entire ASA will contain the base map (Island), all paid DLCs (Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Genesis 1 & 2), and all the Free maps you already get with the base game (Center, Rag, Crystal Isle, Fjordur, Lost Island) for $40 at launch and later will increase to $45 sometime after.
ASA will also be releasing an additional paid DLC as well, which yes we're expecting everyone to have to pay for that separately from the ASA initial price (but this DLC won't ever be coming to the current ARK).

Owning Current ARK does not grant any discounts or free access to anything ASA though. This is why I say you're better off waiting until October and all the other maps will release over time for ASA without additional charge (except ofc the announced but not revealed new DLC).

yeah am just waiting it out now and sticking to the base game with mods for the moment at least till the new one come out kinda sucks tho as I just bought this version to then found out after playing over the 2 Hour limit that it was getting shut down on September ( btw the other 6 hour or something was from family share years ago ) to then be moved to the new version which i'm not really bother for I would accept that one over this surely new is best but after buying like I said kinda sucks specially if that mean I need to spend £40 on the next one so I defo keep my money for that one with all dlc and all new upgrade over all thanks for the reply :)

On the one hand this gives you a chance to try things out in the current game, find out what works best for you and all that.
You'll be ready to go and knowledgeable when the new ASA releases.

And for the record, the only thing "shutting down" is the Official Servers. You can still play this version in UnOfficial servers and Single Player well after ASA and ARK 2 release farther down the line. :P

Does also have to be said that there is a certain degree of doubt that ASA will deliver the promises which have been made about it, or indeed whether it will ever see the light of day at all. So it may be that after waiting a while, it becomes apparent that ASA is not the best investment and you can go for the ASE DLC instead. But yes, it is best to hold off until you can be sure either way.
