100 days hardcore challange
so i havent been playing ark in a while now and i have seen some youtubers making this hardcore challange where you have to survive 100 days without dying and beating all bosses on the map. ( i wanted to repeat it since i have figured out, that i never beat the game by my self and only ever spend my time on official pvp servers, where you usually do the bosses once in a while to get your char maxed out but i never really cared for the story or anything )

i tried to figure out the official settings of ark servers and just copy & pasted it. but still like 99% of the population is underneat level 30 ( the highest level i tamed was a level 100 spino ) . i even have level 4 dinos which i dont remember to exist on official - since usually we cloned lvl 5 for clean breeds. which i feel like they were harder to obtain then 150s actually

someone knows what bar to put up to get actually decent dinos so i can finish it, without needing to breed up my line from level 100 - if i ever manage to find the other lines i need in this level space

On canon story maps, dinos are heavily weighted to spawn at lower levels, with high ones being extremely rare finds. There is a mod to adjust this and make high levels more common...but if you were to use that your run would no longer be vanilla of course...

after i wrote down this thread i have watched quiet a bunch more of those "hardcore challanges" but i noticed that most of them just use unnatural high values and mods like s+ for the nanny. so ill go and search my self something to help me there.

thank you still :)

In that case, this mod can force creatures to spawn at higher levels:

Yes remember that youtubers tend to fudge their "challenges" as their goals tend to be different from actually that of players(ie they want view revenue and you want to play).

Also I would suggest looking additionally at the date their videos were used as 7+ years has evolved with the game adding more challenges and changes than when some of their "challenges" were enacted.

One of your bigger challenges if you forego the use of mods, is that typically breeding dino's satisfactory to beating all 3 tiers of each boss just on the Island map are going to very likely require significant time investments with mutations which take considerably longer to achieve when not using mods such as S+ that you mentioned which have features to guarantee mutations occurring when breeding.

All in all, I would say ground/modify your expectations overall.

i mean you can do the gamma bosses with high level dinos ( we even used to do the ragnarok alpha with barley bred rhinos ) i have been playing this game over several accounts since 2015 and got round about 12k hours only in pvp and think that i know the mechanics very well. ( the challange videos are about 1 year up to 2 weeks old, i just notice that they use mods and unnormal high rates or screw down the wild dino dmg output and always immediatley find high level dinos, they also have day time skips without a lot changing at all ) - just after i have seen those i got the motivation to actually try it my self. i do not have a issue with not dying or anything else but the dino level scale on the island. im at day 25 now with 4x rates and basicly got everything i need - except the dinos. and after searching for multiple hours yesterday i wasnt able to find anything even in the range to 150, thats why i opened this discussion - cause even difficulty 4 did not change a thing. ill now go over to install the mod which hermit showed me and get a dino tracker to see if it really works, how it should.

i think with 4x rate i actually wont even need 100 days to finish the island at least on gamma without a single death.
