Can't tame carnivores?
Hello, I'm playing on a local server with my friend and we can't tame any carnivores.
We put meat in their inventories but it still shows the text prompting us to put something in their inventories. We've waited for a while but nothing happends and they woke up.

"Dino character food drain" is set to 1.0. We've tried with both Oviraptors and Compy both nothing works.

Is it a bug or are we doing something wrong?

When you knock them out, even though you are prompted to give them food, they won't eat until hungry enough. If you put food in their inventory straight away it will just sit there. Give it a few minutes and put a bit of food in their inventory - if it sits there, they still aren't hungry enough, so take it out and wait a bit more. Eventually they will eat it, at which point put more food in and they will auto-eat.

Depending on the time it takes to Tame the dino, you will need to keep them knocked out with Narcoberries or, even better, Narcotics. This will stop the dino waking up.

Oviraptors can only be tamed with eggs.
Compys can only be tamed with raw prime meat.

Thank you so much. We will try this out.

Oviraptor works best with 5-6 T-Rex eggs.
Compy tames immediately after you putin one raw prime meat.

Also you can set your taming speed to 3.0

Other carnivores have certain kibbles they react better on than the normal raw/cooked meat.
You can use the ARK wiki for that. They have calculations how much you need of each food to tame a certain level dino.

Do you find your taming is a good project?
You can share tips&tricks and show off your progresses to others in an artbook style or video.

The amount required will depend on the taming speed. A high level compy will take many raw prime meats without a decently boosted taming rate.

As far as Oviraptors are concerned, the larger the egg the better. Giga eggs are the best (so far), but those obviously don't grow on trees. Spino eggs/Carno/Bronto are all decent choices. You can use any of the taming calculators to determine how many of which you'll need. You can tame with dodo eggs, but it will take forever.

Know its late and so on, but will add this here for others that come for same problem, go check your server settings, you probably got dino feeding on 0, then the carnivores dont get hungry and it wont work to tame them
