Depending on the time it takes to Tame the dino, you will need to keep them knocked out with Narcoberries or, even better, Narcotics. This will stop the dino waking up.
Compys can only be tamed with raw prime meat.
Compy tames immediately after you putin one raw prime meat.
Also you can set your taming speed to 3.0
Other carnivores have certain kibbles they react better on than the normal raw/cooked meat.
You can use the ARK wiki for that. They have calculations how much you need of each food to tame a certain level dino.
You can share tips&tricks and show off your progresses to others in an artbook style or video.

As far as Oviraptors are concerned, the larger the egg the better. Giga eggs are the best (so far), but those obviously don't grow on trees. Spino eggs/Carno/Bronto are all decent choices. You can use any of the taming calculators to determine how many of which you'll need. You can tame with dodo eggs, but it will take forever.
