Making beer

I posted that making beer was not working. I saw on wiki, that they make it on the ground, so I moved my beer making to the ground. It works now. The beer barrel can't be on any kind of flooring.

I always have mine on a foundation. You must have made an error somewhere.

Same, mine are always on a foundation.

The beer vats can be a little glitchy. Sometimes I have to remove everything, and then add it all back, and it suddenly starts the process to make beer.

Only restriction for the barrel that I've seen is that it has to be attached to a water pipe, and that pipe cannot be fed from a well/reservoirs - the barrel will only work if fed from an intake placed in standing water.

The info I gave, came from wiki. So far, only a few random barrels make beer so far. I have mine on the ground with pipes to a water source. Hermit I'll see if I can do a different water source. The thatch keeps disappearing from them, when on the ground. It says it is working, it has the tools crossed picture, but then nothing, with thatch gone. I'll figure it out. One of my barrels that gave me beer yesterday, did not today. I did not change anything. Really hit and miss right now. I'm just tickled my farmer only uses one a day, to work.

It takes a long time to make the stuff, are you sure you're leaving it long enough? And are you keeping them stocked with berries as well as thatch?

I've had thatch "disappear" before, but then I found out it was because I was using a mod, Structures Plus, which give me the ability to pull resources from one device to another. Doh, yeah I know, I was a dummy for doing that.

If you're playing single player game time does not progress unless you are in the game.

Missing thatch most likely due to using the pull mechanic from a mod.

I figured it out. Yeah I can pull stuff, but this time, I put the stuff in by hand and did not tell it to craft. Right clicking and telling it to craft, stopped the crafting. So, this time, I just put the stuff in, and it started on it's own. (I picked each barrel up and put it back down, just to be safe also.) They are all working fine now. Thank you all for your very helpful suggestions.
