What are you using your pelagornis for?
To see what they are all about we grabbed a 104 Pela....called it Steven Seagull naturally.

Once tamed we were quite disappointed at 1000 stamina and 170 carry weight.
After farming 20 - 30 levels on it we got it up to 2000 Stam and 300 weight.
At which point we found it to be quite slow.
During our leveling we found our pela was doing about 40 damage. Then we landed on water and killed some piranha, 402 damage, hell yeah this bad boy is a fish killer....we find an itchy, and 40 damage pops up. Sooooo its only a small fish killer..... it also appears to only eat fish meat.

About ready to give up on our new feathered friend we remembered the promo video....they showed it attacking penguins.
Well it turns out the Pelagornis loves to eat a young penguin! we were getting 20 ish polymer off the little penguins and 2 off the adults.

So is the Pela just a tool for organic polymer?
does it have a PVP use?
What are you using your Pelagornis for?

P.

Can you fish from a pel? I can imagine that might be nice, parking on the back of a bird in the middle of the ocean and dropping a line. Just so long as you have a couple of mosas on follow below you to keep away inquisitive megalodons...

no it would be nice if they allowed that

we use ours for their eggs to make kibble, incase one of our important baby imprints calls for it ;)

I like the fact that the Pelagornis lands on water without dumping you off. On The Center map it helps me go after those beacons that are underwater. It also helps steady me while I'm working on the dock for my home. Honestly, having a flying mount that can land and regain stamina in water is fairly nice. RP-wise, I think it's a great flying mount for anyone playing a pirate or sea-themed tribe. And I do personally enjoy that it decimates fish.

Go try collecting organic polymer with the pelagornis, On an Official server with a lvl 80 tame 226% melee its getting 12-32 polymer per penguin

Now that is interesting..........do they lay eggs atm?
I was wondering if a higher level one than I have could go to the swamp and kill leeches that are underwater, using its quite impressive range and damage to fish, but I don't think leeches will count as fish (and are they even near enough the surface?), and I don't think a pelagornis can fight off the snakes, so maybe not. Anyone tried it?

I tamed my first Pelagornis today. a lowly lvl 60 with kibble tame. He's now 98.

With my standard amoury, kibble, narcs, food, water, hide etc.... (Girl Guide stuff - be prepared) couldn't get off the fn ground.

Soooo..... what do I use my Pelagornis for? Nuthin'. Will strip off tomorrow so I can go for a ride. I'll report back. :)

Yeah it looks like we are just going to get 2 high lv Pela as Penguin polymer tools to be kept at our snow base.

Unless they lay eggs, then we may get a couple more low level to get some eggs ready for what ever comes along that needs them as kibble.

The Pelagornis does increased dmg to snakes as well, and is immune to disease.

The Wiki says that it gets extra damage vs. snakes and alphas.. but I tested this and it does not.. it gets bonus damage ONLY against Coel, Sabertooth Salmon, and Piranha. The one thing I wish it did, that it doesnt, is harvest prime fish meat.
