Disable tribe friendly fire?
How do I disable tribe friendly fire in my PvE server. Before my brother and I made the tribe, we couldn't hurt eachother which made double-teaming a dino easy. Now that we are in the tribe, we hurt eachother. How do I disable friendly fire please?

Seems silly to me that a tribe can attack eachother anyway. Your in a tribe after all, why attack your team mates?

Thank You for your responses and help!

Go into your server's game.ini config file and paste [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode] at the top, then on the next line paste bPvEDisableFriendlyFire=True (the 'b' at the start is not a typo, it's part of the command lol).

Hope that helps^^

Is it in ARK/ShooterGame/Config ? If so, is it the DefaultGame. ini?

Are you hosting it on your local machine? If so then it should be in your Steam directory > steamapps > common > ARK > ShooterGame > Saved > Config > WindowsServer.

Or alternatively if it's non-dedicated, Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor.

If it's on a hosting company I'm afraid I can't say as I've never used them, hopefully someone else with more expeirence would be able to direct you there.

Seems like you guys lack skill lol
If you know what you are doing there is no way that you hit each other.

Depends on the size of the dino. Attacking smaller dinos, even when you are on opposite ends, you can still hit eachother when attacking with pikes. I am of course revering to melee attacking. With firearms, yes, it would be rather difficult to shoot eachother if you know what you are doing.

In all fairness, Ark's hitboxes could use another refinement/optimisation pass too. There are times with my friends when I've clearly been swinging at empty air but they claimed I hit them. Early Access game is Early Access...

Well said Hermit!

This is an old thread but i want to confirm i am doing the right thing before I paste that code because there are a number of things in the config folder.

[/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
bPvEDisableFriendlyFire=true
PvEDisableFriendlyFire=true

DefaultDeviceProfiles
DefaultEditor
DefaultEditerUserSettings
DefaultEngine
DefaultGame
DefaultGameUserSettings
Defaultinput

which one should I be pasting that code into to disable friendly fire?

I know this is a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to point out that this is what fixes it... The official wiki is wrong about this setting (as I just found out).

No, the wiki is not wrong. This is exactly what the wiki says....

Alternatively, you can just scroll down the advanced settings and check the box that says "Disable Friendly Fire". You don't need to edit an ini file.

TODAY we don't need to edit an ini file. But if you would actually read the dates before you reply you might realize that back when they first wrote this thread that the in-game option for that setting did not exist back in 2016 and 2017. This is a 4 year old thread. Perhaps next time you might want to try reading before you dig up old threads.
