True that they hold 150 items instead of 45, but if you can fit 4 large chests into the space of one vault, the chests would actually add up to more storage slots than the vault would. So are they really bigger when you compare storage space with volume they take up in your base?
Its about as boring as spending 100-500 hours on a base and having it destroyed while you're sleeping, then on PVE servers, its about as boring as someone griefing your base, dinos, pillaring everything around you to make sure you arent able to expand. Single player isnt as bad as people think.
Depends on how much imagination you have to come up with new challenges for yourself, or play out whatever mission/story you want to play. For example, I'm currently in the process of building a large base in one of the Center canyons which is very open and stylised - I'd never be able to get away with building this design in PvP, because it'd be raided too easily. And just a few nights ago I set myself the challenge of taking my bronto and anky to the peaks of the snow mountains to get oil - could have gotten it much quicker by diving into the ocean, but the journey was an epic trek and kept me entertained for hours.
Besides, as someone above stated, in single player you don't have to put up with losing things every time you log in. I get attached to my dinos and hate losing my hard work on building/resource collection, so being raided regularly and having to start from scratch would irritate me no end and force me to quit playing very swiftly. On SP PvE I can go at my own pace, do my own thing, and have my own fun without being bothered by such issues.
I do also host a private server for me and a couple of my friends to play on from time to time, so I don't do this game entirely solo. But I do value my solitude in sandbox games such as this, and can spend many hours lost in worlds like these.
You make a good point, that may be something to look into :o Although some structures won't allow you to put everything in them - are there any restrictions on smithys, I can't remember...
not really because if you still want that pvp interaction there is a mod called npc bush people 4, which adds npc`s in different forms .i.e builders, farmers and escaped convics which will rob you if they capture you.
ontop of this there are queens for every npc tribe that you can try and kill, depending on the colour holo above the queen determines how hard they are to kill and will even set a bounty on you when you attack.
unfortunately at the moment i had to uninstall the mod has the last few updates from the creator has caused huge lag spikes. but will be using it again in the future once it`s more steady.
