Is battleye safe/needed?
Hey, just picked this game up on steam and launched it, and it's asking me to install battleye anti-cheat software... should I do this? is it going to put my PC at risk for viruses or other things? seems very... suspicious.

I have been using battleye since over a year now (you need it for arma3 aswell) and never had any problems. And yes, i would say it is needed since 95% of all servers rund it and hackers are on the last 5%

BattlEye is indeed safe to use and does not put you at any additional risk of virus than your PC already may be if you are not properly protected. We require BattlEye on our official servers and server owners can require BattlEye on their own unofficial servers which are denoted by the BattlEye icon in the right column of the server browser. You probably need to have it to even play on most servers. Does it really stop the cheaters? Your guess is as good as mine, generally battleeye is pretty hit or miss with games.

I downloaded it for unturned and player unknowns battlegrounds and havent noticed any problems since, it isnt running in the backgroudn and hasnt slowed down my bootyful pc. Though on ym laptop it really cant be any slower, XD

It's buggy and prone to timeouts causing you to get disconnected from a game at the worst possible time.

Ask people who've played ARMA :steamfacepalm:

See that little mouse icon beside the poster's name?
When that icon is present, it means the poster has the game in his steam account.

Unless you're a god, like Panda. Then you get a star.
