Fjordur doesn't load
I can't get fjordur to load. I never had the mod map so that is not the issue. My wife has the same issue. We have tried everything we can think of including reinstall Ark. Anyone know a fix?

If you right-click on Ark in your Steam library, select Properties, and go to the DLC tab, does Fjord appear on that list? And if it does, does it have a tick in the box next to it?

Yes to both

When you say it 'doesn't load', what result do you get? Does the game crash? Does it take you to the DLC store page? Does it boot you back to the main menu? Or something else?

It starts to load for just a second then it takes me to the DLC menu, but it says in library.

That is strange, yeah, I'm afraid I don't really know what could cause something like that aside from the DLC not being installed, but as you said in your post above it's on your list and ticked so that suggests it is installed properly.

Sometimes when you uninstall a game and reinstall it, it doesn't delete all of the files from your computer. I wonder if some Fjord files might be hanging around somewhere from before the uninstall, and because the game sees them there it doesn't replace or fix them, but they are broken and causing the problem? Perhaps try unticking the Fjord box in your DLC menu, then go to this location:

Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content

and delete the folder named Fjordur completely. Manually remove it, to make sure it's definitely gone.

Then after that, go back to your DLC options and tick the box again, to reinstall it. And then go to the Local Files tab, and hit the button 'Verify integrity of game files' to force the game to check over the installation and make sure to redownload the folder you just deleted. That verification may take some time, but after that boot up Ark and see if it's made a difference.

Sadly I have tried that already, and the file verification saw it and installed it again, so I thought I was going to be good, but nope. I just don't know what else to try. Thanks for the help Hermit :)

One more query - do you have plenty of disk space on your machine? I do recall a while back when one of the other mod maps came out (may have been Lost Island?), there was a bug for a while where the map needed resources from the Center map data in order to load the new map, so if players didn't have the Center installed the new map would fail to load too. Perhaps if you are able, install every DLC you have (just temporarily, you can delete them again after to free up space) and see if the map will load then?
