Can't passive tame dung beetle today in the Center

We play on a dedicated server. This afternoon we installed patch 247.96. I have a dung beetle in a taming pen and it's not aggro'd, although I had the same issue when the beetle was still in the cave. I use the prone method of taming - crawl up to it while laying on the ground, which usually doesn't aggro unless I get a little too close. The E button is available, it tells me to feed it poop. I have tried medium or large poop in slot 0... but when I hit E, nothing is happening. I tried the aggro it and make it chase me until it's tired method, too... but no luck. It's also not just this specific beetle - there were two others in the same cave, same problem.

I have another beetle I tamed on Skull Island a few weeks ago using this method, and it worked great.

I found a monkey a little bit ago and fed it a mejoberry from slot 0, so it appears it's not an issue with all passive tames.

Is there an issue taming dung beetles on this version?

Which cave did you get it from? If it was a cave where the dinos can potentially spawn at double their normal level, they cannot be tamed even if their level is within normal limits. You get the prompt, but it doesn't work, much like you are describing.

Try a beetle from a different cave and see if that works.

I guess I found this one in the Jungle Cave, although the coordinates don't seem to closely match my gps. Until I started researching this morning, I didn't realize there were multiple entrances to this cave.

This dung beetle is a level 290, and I wondered if that was the reason why I couldn't tame it. The other two I tried to tame were closer to level 100 like the one I found on Skull Island.

The one I have in my taming pen (the 290) has awesome markings that make it look like a skull when facing it. I REALLY want to tame this one! :)

The level boosted cave denizens cannot be tamed IIRC.
