Why are ovis so loud and obnoxious?
It seems that everytime an ovi eats some food, they make the LOUDEST effing monster noise, and it scares the crap outta me when I'm peacefully doing some tasks and then suddenly GRAAAWAWRRRCHOMPCHOMPCHOMP

And you know what's worse? They apparently get stuck on a neverending loop of feeding animation + sound, so that annoying noise is NONSTOP for quite a long time sometimes. My two females were doing it over and over right now (but the male is still and quiet), until one of them pooped and stopped it. The other one is still stuck.

Does it only happen to me or does anybody else notice that too?

I think the Galli noise is worse. Can't stand it haha

Yes that noise is quite horrible.

Imagine people taming them with dodo eggs... they hear it for 200+ times over an hour or so...

The problem's only so bad because of the bug where, if they're hungry and you put food in the trough near them, they make the eating sound from then until you log off, not just until they're finished eating. Otherwise it'd be just a few iterations and you'd probably only have heard one and then left before the second or third.

The worst thing is when you are harvesting metal somewhere in the jungle and you hear some heavy breathing and footstomps behind you, you turn around expecting a big predator to be in some distance when in reality it's just a Pachy passing by right behind you.

And the Anky roar also sounds really predatory...

I really hate that the Ovi's still get stuck in the eating animation, and i'm glad the gallis dont since their noise is just the ovi's slightly augmented. I made the mistake of tranqing one of my ovis in frustration, ugh i forgot it eats while unconcious Y_Y.

This is one of the reasons why I switch off the game sounds and listen to music, at least when I'm doing Base maintenance around my ovis. It sounds absolutely disgusting.

They're adorable and i should probably stop taming them ( i have 30) but i do agree the sound get annoying after a while when you have a bunch of them.

Leave the area so your base drops out of memory, then return so it loads in again. Stops the ovi getting stuck in the eating animation and makes it quiet again. If you have a fast bird or land mount should only take a couple of minutes to leave and get back.

I don't have a galli yet... well, now I know what to expect.

Yes, they are! XD I only have three (as of yet) but I do have a bit of a hoarding problem with other dinos (especially parasaurs and raptors, lol)

Oh, that's cool! My ptera is quick enough, so I guess I can do it. Wasting a little time is less bothersome than that nonstop noise...

Yes long time issue thats annoying like the deep loud base of a quetzal flying or big dino walking. Really hope they adjust those sometime or at least give us a slider to adjust it.

Anyway yeah what the other guy said about rendering distance fixes it. Also I always keep my dinos out of my main area of working so I don't have to put up with the noise.

I'm always punching my overaptors sometimes giving them a few punches stops them. I think it breaks the loop. Not always though.

That's animal abuse...

Yes, I have 5 Ovis scattered about...and after they eat from the trough they get stuck in this annoying eating animation. Been like this for months... First time I heard it I thought they were draining my troughs!!!!
