Random black boxes glitch

so I\m playing in center and since the last update and fix I keep getting black box/pixel/eh? while moving around at times. Happens in redwood forest, happens in starter island, dunno ab the rest but they are frequent enough to make me think they\re everywhere.

I got a bit of ptsd from falling under the map and drowning repeatedly on update day so this unsettles me quite a bit when it starts happenning (goes on for a while too, flashing while I move).

Anyone else experiencing this and did it ever mean anything to worry about?

Can you post a screenshot or two? Might be easier to diagnose if we can see it for ourselves...

as per murphy\s law they don't occur right now. I didn't take any ss because they flash really fast. But I'll try next time I play for long enough and I'll be back

I am getting the same thing intermittently. It hasn't been enough to be worrisome, and I have a really hard time getting a screenshot of it because it happens so quickly and at seemingly random intervals. As far as I can tell, it's not preceding anything like a crash or something that might be detrimental to the game. Sometimes I will get two or three instances in rapid succession, and then nothing for an hour or more before it happens again. It's annoying, but doesn't seem to be causing problems outside of that.... yet...

but to me it happens in the middle of the forest as well, where there\s no or far too little sunlight to matter.

Yep, also happening when there's miles of vegetation, clouds and landscape between the camera and the sun.

Still a thing after the current 247.21 update.

last time it occured I was just entering the base house. while it is near a tree in redwood forest, it still didn\t have the vegetation in direct sight

I have seen this glitch and it has started to happen to me as well. This is SUPER troublesome to me because i do loads of ark Youtube content. I cannot have this happening ever. Is there any word on a fix yet? I have a nvidia 970 card most everything on epic and havent had trouble like this before. I do have some video footage of this occurance as well. I pray that there is a fix for this soon because i have tried everything i can think of. all my drivers are up to date and all as well. Please help!!!

I know I'm late, I havea 980 ti with the same issue but I don't think it's our cards. I turned off light shafts ( the beam of light effect from the sun ) and haven't seen the issue since. Hope this helps.

there is still one pixel, like a hole in the sky, every now and then, after you kill the light shafts. not as annoying as the whole box, though, so it's a compromise.
