How much do you rely on "taming" in this game?
I like the whole survival adventure thing going on here but I am not too big on the whole taming mechanic it's a bit of a chore I prefer the early game more. Can you play this without taming dinos or as little as possible and just do all content by yourself? (And maybe other player)

Without boosting player stats into oblivion its VERY hard.
you can't fight a swam of dinos by your self thts why a wyvern helps a lot for ez acess to any place

taming is needed for pretty much everything, search online for some good tames you will need like anky for metal, argy as a flying mount, etc

If chasing, trapping, KOing and force-feeding is a chore - which after a time it does eventually become, try...

It's a game-changer. Here's an introduction to it that is only a few minutes long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgMLPOoWQxE

If you want a survival game, where you do most of your thins yourself, and (possible) tames are just some helpers, you should try conan exiles. You can only take one tame with you in that game.

In ARK, however, tames make nearly every aspect of the game easier. (You still can do much yourself.) They can carry much more, they will speed up your travels, they make dives in the seas (and you NEED to dive envetually) much easier. And you even can use them as mobile bases.

I'm not sure, however, if it is realy necessary to breed. But if you do, also boss-fights get easier. (But in SP-mode, normal tames probalby also could do the trick.)

But don't worry: the game has tools, which will ease breeding and holding your tames together, especially later, when you have masses of them. Namely: Breeding-Station, cryopods and electric leash. (from most late-game to most early...)

Tedious at first, but they would definitely be a big help in the long run.

It’s possible, but you will die a lot, and very often. You also won’t progress, because you will need to go to different places for resources, and you’ll die getting there. If staying in one little spot, eating berries and building huts sound fun, go for it. You’ll also still be killed by something sooner or later.
