Depends on the map and your capabilities.
Mantis, penguines, and hesperonis in decreasing order of organic polymer yield. Ease of gathering them depends on the map and the region of the map(since for example no mantis on "theisland" but tons on ragnarok or scorched earth.
Also, if you are quick with loot gathering from beacons or you good at extinction supply drops, items that have organic polymer you can break down with the industrical grinder too(but this is probably not as efficient as just harvesting from good yielding animals on the appropriate maps.
Just to add to this, karkinos on Abs and corrupted dinos on Ex (corrupted nodules work as poly).
Ghille can be crafted in the inventory, so could you bring your blueprint with you and craft it on the fly when you get enough?
On Beginner Server level 44 capped that doesn't allow for much high level crafted items. Can't play on a regular server because all servers, even the unofficial, have bad ping. Regular official servers lag so bad my char cannot even move even tho I'm on a gaming computer. I have a char or two on reg server but cannot do anything until Wildcard addresses it's lag issue.
Mantis, not manta. As in praying mantis, one of the creatures from the Scorched Earth DLC. Manta don't drop poly, no.
But if you fly your pelagornis all the way to the snow biome in the NW, in the water there are icebergs with lots of penguins on. Kill and harvest those for a while and you'll have loads of poly.
- Everything that would yield polymer in the industrial grinder gives organic polymer instead. (e.g. grind soap)
- Get a bee hive, tame a lot of Achatinas with cake and you can have quite a good steady organic polymer production. But takes quite a lot time to find enough achatinas to be able to craft/repair high quality ghillie armor with it.
But imho the usability of high quality ghillie is very limited anyway, mainly because of it's low durability vs. effort for repair
Can be repaired on the go though, unlike chitin which requires a smithy.
If you have other DLCs, Organic Polymer isn't a problem on most maps.
Can harvest with a bird if it's a pelagornis and a HQ club isn't available. But in any other instance yeah, what you said.
