Killing rock golem
Why the hell is it so difficult to kill a rock golem, they are stupidly overpowered, no wild roaming creature should require tek tier items to be killed, not even the titanosaur is that lame. Imagine having that thing in your base, killing all your tames and there's nothing you can do about it...
Please give me something, anything from the scorched earth map that can actually kill a rock golem, that's not tek tier or from another map, I find it hard to believe there's anything. Worst of all, they get nerfed post tame, so there's no point in being that annoying as wild. They are spawning EVERYWHERE, interrupting me during tames or harvesting resources, it's really getting on my nerves...

I have done it with a bred and imprinted argent. It's slow but the argent can usually avoid his hits and fly to nearby cliffs for stamina. Also, they are easy to aggro away from your base using an argent.

Rocks golems take a very small amount of melee damage, as you may have already figured out. You mostly have to use explosives or any kind of projectiles to kill them.

Elemental damage bypasses their armor last I heard. Get a wyvern.

Explosives like rocket launcher or grenades. Or armour piercing attacks like velonosaur needles. No tek needed.

thylo work really well. bleed and kite

bleeds hurt them pretty badly. Not sure about wyvern's, I've seen them used amazingly well to clear the scar on scorched earth.

metal arrow with coumpound bow, aim for the head. it will bypass armor. (tek bow does the same as well)

A tamed golem with fairly good enough melee can kill other wild golems in a fairly quick fashion(135-150 level minimum tame range). As golems do increased melee damage vs each other. just be sure not to put the tamed golem in a situation where death is a high chance of happening.

But yeah the armor reduction and HP does get nerfed a bit post tame, otherwise a good melee golem can make short work of enemy golems due to the increased melee damage multiplier vs other golems.

As other commentators have suggested. bleed attacks work decently well so you can tame a thyla if possible, just do hit and run attacks and let the golem bleed to death over time.

However the 3 prime wyverns (thunder, fire, poison) breath attacks have no effect on the golems.

Phoenix can deal with them as long as you do hit and run attacks to inflict the phoenix fire damage over time effect. but its basically just the "Diet coke" version of bleed.

other people have suggested various firearms and projectile weapons. but it maybe impractical to use those things vs a giant armored opponent with a inflated HP pool,
because golems tend to respawn quickly.
otherwise i'd say go for it when it comes to the smaller versions called "rubble golems"

otherwise barring those solutions. the only other ways of dealing with the golems in a quick and effective fashion (Without it taking up a unreasonable amount of time) is to bring out of map Animals into the fight (Velonosaurs, giganotosaurus) or taming your own golem that came out with decent enough melee Post tame.

if all else fails. you may construct a trap made from metal structures. lure the golem there and then kill it at your own pace via siege weapons/cannonballs/Aforementioned firearms. But the resource costs may get annoying. or just bleed it to death in the trap with your thyla.

Hope it works out, Scorched earth can get rather annoying sometimes.

Another vote for taming a thyla; I used one to kill rock golems all the time near my Ragnarok base, well at least until I traded for velonasaur eggs. Takes a bit of time (hit & run with the bleed), but works fine. Thylas are such great mounts anyway that you will probably want to tame and breed some anyhow.

You heard wrong. Rock golems are 100% immun to wyvern breaths.

I also +1 thylas. Bleed proc on regular attacks, super fast and extremely agile.

The thing is, I already tried any creature that causes bleeding and non of them worked, I'm starting to think the server made them more overpowered than they already are.

I did tame a 150 golem and got decent melee on it, but at the same time it does not seem like my golem has the melee damage reduction like the wild golems, what a ripoff. It's horrible at killing wyverns compared to just using another wyvern too, only advantage being seemingly endless stamina, where I would otherwise have to land once or twice if fighting an alpha wyvern.

So far rock golems have been nothing but annoying, disappointing and useless... I'll see if it can redeem itself by killing other golems, because that seems to be the only option I have. I'll also complain to the owner about bleeding not working, for a moment I thought thylas could be good for something.

Fire wyvern breath is quite effective with the dot and lightning wyvern ignores 20% of rock golems armor. Used to be 35% but they nerfed it few patches ago.

until a time comes that you can kill them. just kite them away. they are slow easy to dodge
Chariot Oct 24, 2021 @ 6:27am
Some places mention that stuff like compound bows can deal full damage to rock elementals, ignore that, it's a death sentence, compound bows never deal even enough damage to dent it over the course of a hundred or so arrows
