But yeah the armor reduction and HP does get nerfed a bit post tame, otherwise a good melee golem can make short work of enemy golems due to the increased melee damage multiplier vs other golems.
As other commentators have suggested. bleed attacks work decently well so you can tame a thyla if possible, just do hit and run attacks and let the golem bleed to death over time.
However the 3 prime wyverns (thunder, fire, poison) breath attacks have no effect on the golems.
Phoenix can deal with them as long as you do hit and run attacks to inflict the phoenix fire damage over time effect. but its basically just the "Diet coke" version of bleed.
other people have suggested various firearms and projectile weapons. but it maybe impractical to use those things vs a giant armored opponent with a inflated HP pool,
because golems tend to respawn quickly.
otherwise i'd say go for it when it comes to the smaller versions called "rubble golems"
otherwise barring those solutions. the only other ways of dealing with the golems in a quick and effective fashion (Without it taking up a unreasonable amount of time) is to bring out of map Animals into the fight (Velonosaurs, giganotosaurus) or taming your own golem that came out with decent enough melee Post tame.
if all else fails. you may construct a trap made from metal structures. lure the golem there and then kill it at your own pace via siege weapons/cannonballs/Aforementioned firearms. But the resource costs may get annoying. or just bleed it to death in the trap with your thyla.
Hope it works out, Scorched earth can get rather annoying sometimes.
I also +1 thylas. Bleed proc on regular attacks, super fast and extremely agile.
I did tame a 150 golem and got decent melee on it, but at the same time it does not seem like my golem has the melee damage reduction like the wild golems, what a ripoff. It's horrible at killing wyverns compared to just using another wyvern too, only advantage being seemingly endless stamina, where I would otherwise have to land once or twice if fighting an alpha wyvern.
So far rock golems have been nothing but annoying, disappointing and useless... I'll see if it can redeem itself by killing other golems, because that seems to be the only option I have. I'll also complain to the owner about bleeding not working, for a moment I thought thylas could be good for something.
Fire wyvern breath is quite effective with the dot and lightning wyvern ignores 20% of rock golems armor. Used to be 35% but they nerfed it few patches ago.
