Hopefully that will help
I think this is your issue. Imprinting ups melee damage, but isn't carried over to children - the babies inherit the base stat before imprint. So the stat you are seeing on the baby is the actual stat the parents have - on the parents it just looks higher because of the imprint modifier.
It may be advisable when breeding for mutations to deliberately NOT imprint any babies until you have the final stats you want on the parents. That way it avoids any possible confusion.
Another thing I just noticed I'm about to check and get back with the results.
Apparently when you put a dino in a cryo pod they get a boost to melee and carry weight that remains after you release them.
Parents were podded but babies were not.
Hit dino cap so podded babies now they have same stats as parents.
Deployed them to see if it was just a visual bug on cryo pod ui but stats remained up even after Deployed.
Oh you mean the babies came out with that stat after imprint, not before? Ok my bad, I misunderstood then.
Oh right, this will probably be the imprint update glitch then. When a dino matures after being imprinted, the extra stats it gains from the imprint don't always show up right away. You have to trigger them to update/recalculate by either 1) pumping a level into them, 2) leaving the area then coming back to force a reload, or 3) resetting the dino somehow, like with a cryo as you did, or uploading at the obelisk. It's just a visual bug tho, the stats are still there even if they don't initially show.
Glad you got it sorted^^
I didn't know about that bug.
Thank you.
At least now I understand why it does what it does.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and reply.
Knowing about this visual bug will be much more useful instead of thinking somehow they get some kind of cryo buff lol.
That's why I edited it and added extra details like
Thought Weight and Melee damage would go up after they fully matured but these are final stats fully mature and everything even left them for a bit afterwards but this is it.
I didn't word it well the first time.
