You can use stem berries as well, but taming is very slow that way

On a related note, does anyone know if the chali has a level limit for taming it too? Like the gigantopithicus for example - you can get mejoberries prior to level 30, but you can't use them to tame the thing until lvl 30. Could you stimberry the chali at any level and have it as a guard dog without saddle, or do you have to wait for a level before it'll eat from your hand?

I got caught mid tame when 2x event cut off and realized I didn't have enough beer Don't know why but tried stimberrys it would not take them so luckily tribemates brought more beer ..
So has anyone successfully used stims
