Wild eggs go up to 190 level, they have 10 more dmg than rex, you can heal them with nameless venom, they can travel maps very quickly, great AoE dmg, invisibillity, easy climbing make many scenarios easier, good swimmers, good weight capacity, tanky and they have tek saddle.
Something to dislike about them would be the fact that if you are holding something while riding like a torch, you won’t be able to glide or snap to surfaces.
Don’t make that mistake while exploring the grave of the lost lol
I mean yeah the movement is very finicky, but all movement in ark is very finicky.
(this one, if you wanted to see it to)

My personal annoyance with the drake is that, very rarely nowadays, their dash ability breaks and instead of lunging quickly between surfaces they will fling themselves across the gap in a wild cartwheel of nausea (especially if you happen to be in first person view when it happens). I don't easily get motion sick from games but that little incident certainly hits the threshold. Other than that, I wouldn't consider them amazing on any map other than Abberation, but they are also practically necessary on Abby unless you want to go through the effort of getting a doom crab, taming a reaper, or have the sense and courage to do everything with a pack of ravagers. (For clarification when I say "have the sense" I don't mean the ravagers are the best idea, I mean you need a bit of a sense of the game/map to keep that ravager pack alive and effectively together as you move with them). Oh, but as far as breeding drakes, if you have s+ you can make that happen with the s+ mutator. Not an available option on official servers though.
I wasted hours of my life on a tame that is ♥♥♥♥.
And you have to tame it because they decided to just ♥♥♥♥ any helpful engram youve wasted points on.
I own all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ maps, I should have access to all my engrams.
All great things if it actually moved the way you wanted. It's not literally the best YOU think it's good. I find it un-Impressive and a waste of my time.
Their movement
Their requirements to tame.
Their inability to breed
Their ♥♥♥♥ movement
Their ♥♥♥♥ climbing
The map has so much foliege flying around green zone you just end up grabbing a tree mid glide, and now have a screen of green to guess where you're pointing.
And because they were put in the game, engrams and flyers were locked out. Aberration as a map was pretty frustrating...but to give this dumb ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ creature and tell me it's how I get around... No, go back to the computer...do some more coding and fix this stupid pos
As you've stated tho.... you have the option to change it.
Chances of a tlc are pretty much nil.
Do I use them though? Nah.
Are they required to get around Aberration? Definitely not!
Are they required in any way shape or form to unlock anything? Again, nope.
No ones forced you to tame this creature. No one is forcing you to use this creature.
If you don't like it, don't use it. It's as simple as that.
I did though, and it is disappointing. So talk all you want man, your speaking about an after the fact. You say a lot of nothing
