I know, right?
I laugh my ass off every... single... time I see some idiot posting a negative review on a game they've played for hundreds of hours.
Newsflash, idiots: If you've played a game for 1,000 hours, you couldn't give it a more sterling, shiny and glowing review than that. No matter how much you try to whine about something you don't like that happened on a PVP server. You played the game for 1,000 hours, lol.
You ARE the recommendation.
Game is buggy as ♥♥♥♥. Dinos clip all day every day. eggs go where ever they feel like. You die offline because some random spawn inside your base.
Need I go on? But hey.. One bad night right?
Also I have 1k+ hours.. Took me almost 600 hours to get dinos able to do boss fights. I HAVE GIVE THIS GAME A NEG REVIEW. This game went from pos to neg over night.
How? I dont know maybe google for once!
Point why it is mixed and neg reviews.

As I said... Might want to google for once instead of going " I BELEIVE THIS. WHO ELSE "
Okay so either you are a troll.. Or you didnt read what OP said and what he was asking.
Either way.. Use google. You dont seem to have any understanding in anyway of why ark is getting neg reviews.
I guess some people enjoy 10 FPS / lowering setttings.
Clipping: I mean yeah, it's a problem, but I take advantage of it to make it look like I have a lot of trophy kills of regular dinos. Plus it helps save some space when it comes to lining my dinos up in my garage. Back in my official PVP days, it was especially annoying but I'd never go back because I've got no tribe to play with any more.
Dying offline due to a wild spawn in your base: I have NEVER had this happen ever when I log out, it's inside my base building and not in my yard. I've died offline for sure, but that's usually either been due to an offline raid or some other reason. I got into the habit of getting naked before logging off and since then, it's not been a bother if I died offline.
Grind: yep. Official settings are grind and take a lot of time. I will never turn you down on that. Even on an official server with 5X tame, 3X Harvest, it's less Grindy, but really only a little bit. However, I am not opposed to spending 18 Hours doing the Thunder Plains outside of guadosalam in FFX to get the 200 consecutive dodged lightning bolts. Oh boy I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate that mini game, and it's all for a character I like the least as well. Honestly, if this game didn't have grind, I wouldn't get a feeling of accomplishment when I finally finish the project/task I have been working on. There's a limit to how much grind I can tolerate though, so it becomes a matter of either getting multiple people to work on the project or boost the rates accordingly for a solo player, which I'm now doing.
I know it's a personal experience, but I don't see anything you have said that would qualify the game being as bad as you say it is. However, I will add my own complaints to your list.
Fog: this fog is absolutely crippling to my productivity. And it feels like once it comes, it stays forever. Please, give me a little visibility.
RNG: some of the best and worst experiences I have had are due to RNG. For example, starting over on a new server, the last thing I want to spawn in range of is an Alpha raptor when I spawned in the "easy zone". There's nothing fun about that and it's not like it was my fault for not choosing to spawn before the Alpha Raptor spawned or that I should have chosen a different area marked as easy. However, this gets countered by the good experiences I have had with RNG, such as spawning onto Ragnarok in the server cluster for the second time and running through Viking Bay, only to end up having to hide on a tall rock from a tek Rex, and them turning around to see a normal Rex has spawned/wandered in my escape path, so I'm having to play a survival horror version of Jurassic Park while I make a mad dash for a beacon/obelisk to get to my dinos. It was moments like those that I lock into my memory as tense and really fun times.
Difficulty: the games difficulty artificially escalates, which leads to less engaging end game experiences. Hopefully this is fixed with new challenges in Extinction.
Rendering: I HATE how this game renders one asset at a time on the fly, dinos first. Even when running off a SSD, I find that large bases murder my framer ate and sometimes fly into someone's yard before it's rendered, at least until I get to know where everyone's base is. This MIGHT be fixed with the cryo pods, as long as people use them.
Honestly, even when I add my points of criticism in, I can't see how I can hate this game after 1.8K hours. I know I got bored and stopped playing before Scorched Earth was released but after a hiatus I'm back and finding I have a lot to experience/play/discover now.
Havent lost an egg in many many many months
Havent had a single thing spawn in my base/s for many many many many months...
It took you 600 hrs to get dinos for boss fights?.... erm .... ok.
Yes you need go on... you've named 3 things that rarely happen.... and 1 thing thats down to how you play.
Yet the whole game is buggy af?
Yes... this is the kind of bs the review system is full of.
For me its about recommendation, I slogged my way through a ton of crap and deal with bugs often. Single player is full of game breaking issues like tethering. The procedural generation map option has been all but abandoned in a sorry state thats unusable.
But... I'm the kinda guy that will grind his ass off for hours to build a steel shack. There's lots to like about the game and since I paid for it I may as well get what I can out of it. But having said that... I know my tolerances are higher than most.... I cannot honestly recomend this game to others in general. Maybe I could recommend it to someone like me who can grind like mad and not get bored... or has a lot of time to spare.
But this game is NOT for a casual player... I cannot recommend to my friends or the general populace to play it. They would be better off trying some other product(s).
Things like pgm were experimental at best, in the first place.
Tether is a necessary evil... dont like it/dont need it? Run dedicated... problem 100% solved.
Are things like that in your review?
Case and point.
Look at this guy.
Nothing he's even saying exists in Ark today (I'm not sure it ever did for that matter and I have 3K hours)
"THE GAME WENT FROM POS TO NEG OVER NIGHT"
What a moron.
Yet another. Haha.
What makes you think anyone cares that you think they shouldn't play the game?
You've played it for thousands of hours.
Your "friends" should take that as a glowing recommendation if they have an IQ over "rock".
Just because you lost your favorite dino doesn't mean the entire game is bad.
Hope that cleared it up for you fam.
LOL!
Yes, that's kinda how PVP build/raid games work. So you're saying you don't like the genre even though you played this for hundreds of hours. Bright.
As far as building being bugged? Never that I've seen or heard about.
