Mini map overhaul:
Will receive a new 'Me' marker which is easier to identify
'Me' marker now tracks rotation
Increased number of point of interest map markers to 30
Changed font for map markers to avoid overlays
'Me' marker and 'points of interest' markers are now colourable
The other changes there I'm fine with, it's just the first two which I really wish we could undo.
I am assuming this patch 278.0 is an older patch where the map was changed. But what's confusing me is, they mention a "Mini Map". In every game I've played (well, almost every) there are 2 maps. the main map, which you open, it covers your screen, and is some times "interactive" where you can put your own map notes and POI's on. And then there's the "Mini Map" which is usually a small, more localized map that's always on screen, showing your your surrounding area and helps to show what direction you are moving in.
Now, they said "mini map", but I've yet to see any thing that even suggests there is a "mini map" anywhere on my screen.
So maybe they are calling the main map you use in game a "mini map". Or am I missing something.
Is there an actual "mini map" in game? A mini-map in the way almost every other game uses it?
And to this day I have not been able to actually place a "POI pin" on my map anywhere. So no idea what I am missing or not doing right.
To put a maker on your map, make sure you are dismounted then press "P". Enter your Lat & Long, color you want and name, voila.
No mini map, the mini map they talk about is the map you use.
