Wyverns are useless

Any one know of a mod that will make the wyverns act like we are actually flying them? LOL, These things are horrible. Won't turn, won't land, handles like a city bus with all the tires flat and the driver blindfolded. Such a disappointment. I just started playing again a few weeks ago. Finally got some wyverns and I wish I hadn;t bothered now. Maybe I have a bug. I was away from Ark for awhile but I don't seem to remember them being this bad. Now they are almost useless. What a shame.

Nope. Wyverns have the turning radius of an aircraft carrier.
But they do have an emergency brake you can use to turn a bit faster.

How are they useless... They are like... The superior air transport midgame.

Able to gather tons of meat, huge carrying capacity, nice speed (it seems slow but remember its large af and its faster than an ptera without its dive-it covers more land distance)
They can land as well... What are you saying. Just press SPACE. They also turn, its hard landing one, but that's its one weakness. It would be stupidly OP if it can manuever fast, cause by then you wouldnt be able to flank it (which is a strategy if you want to kill wyvern flyers)

Its like... A quintessential mid to late game mount. I cant think of myself doing a playthrough without a wyvern. Quetzals are slow, argies are slow, pteras have ♥♥♥♥ capacity...

A wyvern has everything... And if you're having a problem landing it, then you're bad.

Use the Naj's SF MOD. You can change the turning ability of the wyvern in the ini settings. Plus you'll be able to pump up the speed stats too.
And it doesn't replace any existing wyvern.

YES they are very hard to fly but they are DEFINITELY NOT useless.
They have great health, carry weight, and attack power.
Need a wild Giga or Alpha dead? A fire or lightning wyvern is the best way to do it.

Air superiority and hits like a truck.

I would argue for the Wyvern as well. If U want maneuverability while still maintaining speed, try an Owl or Griffin. The Wyvern is what it is.

As for power, since I play on official, almost any of my bred creatures (rexes, spinos, thylas, ravagers, owls, argies, etc) can beat Wyverns in fights, so the Wyvern is inferior. However, it still hits hard enough to get U out of almost any situation, while being super fast.

To this day, the only mount I have found to be superior to the Wyvern in pure speed, while maintaining utility, would be the Enforcer. On level ground, with a few points in speed, one can easily outrun a Wyvern . . . and that's without teleporting like hell.

@Hwaryun Thank you I'l try that, that was helpful. I only play Ark now with my 7 yr old so we spawn and GCM etc. He just wants to ride Dinos. Shoulda been there when we spent an hour or so getting one egg and then got ready to hatch it and instead of dropping the egg....I ate it LMAO.

Nice, when did the Ark community get toxic? @God Himself, Do we need to resort to name calling cuz we disagree? I'm playing with my 7 yr old, So it's a little different situation than if I were playing with "grownups" , Ya know. I guess "useless" was a little harsh. They're cool looking and my kid loves them. Sorry if I upset you.

it does not only improve the wyvern but a lot of other former "useless" dinos too.

@gran, Thanks I think I'm using that already. I have it subscribed but maybe I didn't load it. I'll check. @Hwaryun Do you know if I'm local hosting with my PC with my son, do I have to add those ini setings to his game or just mine, on the hosting PC?

As a side note, apparently boosting the Wyvern's speed way up affects the turning radius. At slower speeds they turn and land much better. I thought I remembered the being much more maneuverable. So basically I messed them up and they are NOT supposed to be that bad. So FYI don't boost the speed up too much and they are fine. But seriously at 300% plus speed they are a nightmare to land and turn LOL.

300% speed? I'm sorry but are you using a mod? There's a reason why wildcard nerfed flyer speeds X)

Hahaha, don´t worry, you where bullied by God Himself, what did you expect? ever read the bible and what god sometimes shall have done? I recommend using the Arkwiki for controll hints for how to controll certain Dinos, so you know what you are doing. This may help your Kid! Some Creatures have many special Attacks and only 2 mouse buutons will not do them all. Sarcos for example use c attack as well.
