How to use map? can someone help me?

Hey guys, can someone telll me how to use a map?
theres no arrow thing pointing to where I am or anything similar.
When someone needs my coordinates I have no idea where I am.

You have to learn the engrams to craft what you'll need to get your exact location, early on you have a map but it tells you nothing, its all to discover.

when telling people where are early on try to tell them landmarks, are you near anything people will know and such?

Try to pick out landforms in the area around you that show on the map, so you can figure out where you are. And learn the locations of big landmarks such as the obelisks and large mountains, so you can use those to navigate. Much like using a map in real life.

In your GameUserSettings.ini, add ShowMapPlayerLocation=True

If you're playing on a server you can't change it yourself and you'd have to make a GPS to get your exact coordinates

how do you use a map in real life?
is there also a little arrow that marks your position?

simply look around you and compare it to the map. it is very simple.

just do what i do: memorize your movements so you can go back when you want, take a reference like a mountain o something else

can also use flaregun to show your location to other players flares arent affect via view distance so can be spotted from other side of map if you dont have anything blocking your view makes them very useful for peaceful servers

Also hold down the H key and in top left it should give you a name of the area you are in
