How bad is radiation damage
TL:DR does radiation damage do moderately low damage like 10-15 damage or is it percentage and thus will kill you in second no matter how much health you have?

want to make element at a element river but i want to use a mount that has lots of weight for the materials (3k+) like a basilisk/kark/gasbag, is good at killing the things you creatures you run into on the way like a rex/reaper/giga, and gets around very fast to reach it quickly like a mana/drake/wyvern.

the only creatures i could think of that has all 3 of those things are the Titans (who i will not transfer away from extiction, i want a complete set on extinction and i dont want to tame them all over again) AND the Mek. Problem is i heard the Mek takes radiation damage for some dumb reason so i am wondering how bad it is, do mounts lose a percentage surface and dragon fire (thus killing the mek in seconds) or does it do like 10-20 damage a second because my Mek has around 55k health and if it does around 15 health a second then it would take the Mek around an hour to die, which is more then enough time for me to craft what i need and i could just heal it back up insanely quickly afterwords with z plant/drone/auto repair.

Radiation damage is fairly low. I don't know the exact damage per second it does, but it's not a percent and it's not high either. You should be able to take a high-hp tame (or yourself) into radiation for a moment to check the exact dps if you want to do the math for how long you can stay down there (keep in mind that fights where you get hit would decrease the time left.)

appears to be around 15 a second, thats good, also ya, i know to make sure to factor in damage from fights, luckly the mek is very agiliy and can walk circles around most things while killing them without getting hit. thanks

Remember that for any tame which isn't immune, you can feed them mushroom stew to give them temporary resistance. You just have to do it very regularly as the status doesn't last long, so have plenty with you and keep an eye on them while you're down there.

We brought a bear along with our real dinos for a trip and took out a Reaper before the bear had to turn back. He could have lasted Maybe 5 to 10 minutes.
