Alternatively, you can set up your own dedicated server instead of using non-ded. Dedicated servers have no tether at all. But again, you need a good enough computer to run this.
*) There is a button in the top corner of the single player menu to 'host dedicated server', I've never tried that myself as I hosted mine before that button was added and just stuck with my old methods. But it may be the simplest way to do it, I'm not sure, something to perhaps look into.
*) A lot of people on here will also recommend you get ASM, Ark Server Manager. Again I have no experience in this area so I can't advise there, but it might be something you want to research.
*) Personally, I use a similar method to the one written in this guide:

That article explains it pretty simply and easily imo, even though it's quite an old one now. That's the method I have most experience in, so if you had any questions about it after reading the guide, I might be able to help out a little (although I'm no computer whizz).
Hope that helps^^
EDIT: Actually after skimming through that guide again I realise it's been updated since I last read it, it includes the detail about the host server button in the solo menu. I'll have to re-read it in full again sometime to see what else is new lol
