On my server, I am using the Bitou2k's Binocular that shows the dino's wild stats points when aim at and pressing "n": https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1136125765
so am not sure if the regular tek binocular has the same function.
Mutations can also occur, causing the stats of the baby to be higher than either parent by up to 6 points, 2 points per mutation and a maximum of 3 new mutations at birth (IIRC). The wiki covers it in great detail with how to properly breed for mutations.
Any wild that has a base stat of 45 or above is a good base stock tho (except Tex dinos which have a higher max level)

I have bred lvl 262 velos with 0 mutations, simply stats taken from 4 different max 150s(224s).based on max stat of 47 that i have ever found i think its in theory possible to have a non mutated pure bred lvl 282. but this would take a lot of work, luck and time. add to that a reasonable 20 lvls of mutations and i think lvl 300 dinos for non teks, should be a reasonable lvl to reach.
