How to stop my tamed dinos from gathering from dead dinos?
No mater how i put the options on my tamed dinos they never stop from gathering meat from dead dinos. How can i make them just kill the dino but not harvest it? It is really annoying because they gather much less stuff then me.

Hold E on it and it should be in one of the options

If that doesn’t work you’ve change something with a mod or gene is bugged.
Change your settings so they gather more than you, since you’ve already changed your settings for survivors.

Well that is a solution... But it is still so annoying that the option change doesnt do anything

Guys, he means eating the body, not harvesting resources from it. Even with resource harvesting turned off, predators will still destroy a body when a creature dies.

@OP - this body destruction was actually added in to fix another bug. In the past, dinos with harvesting turned off would still try to eat a body, but would be unable to damage it and so get stuck in an endless attack loop on the corpse. The only way to stop them infinitely attacking it was to whistle passive, but then the moment you set them back to neutral/attack target they would immediately run back to the corpse and get stuck again, even if the corpse was a long way away.

Now, with them destroying the corpse, at least they don't get stuck in that infinite attack loop. One could perhaps argue that just having them destroy the corpse instead of actually fixing the bug of dinos attacking forever was lazy programming on WildCard's part. However in the absence of another solution, having them destroy corpses is much preferable to having them refuse to follow you or being forced to set them to passive and have them not defend you from attacks.

This is why I try not to take dinos out on follow when trying to harvest stuff from animals. I just pick one to ride and use that one, since then I can control it 100%. If I take out a pack, I do that when I have another purpose in mind than harvesting. For harvesting, I control the dino directly via riding.

This has been going on for months and months so the hope that they fix it soon is rather a pipe dream. I suspect if they had a way to fix it that they could actually implement they'd have done it already.

Actually I think they consider it 'fixed', in that they have solved the issue of dinos getting stuck in an attack loop. I'm not sure they consider dinos destroying bodies even with harvest turned off as a bug that needs fixing...the players who do view it that way would probably have to contact them via their official forums and bring the matter up with them.

Put them on passive non rum away they're won't eat dead bodies

Yes and then they also don't attack things.

What people are complaining about here is just this. You have to set them to "attack my target", order an attack, immediately set them to passive, harvest the corpse, set them back to "attack my target," lather, rinse, repeat, even when in the raidal window you have set the dino to "do not harvest anything."

It should be possible to have them be on attack but not harvest mode. I mean how hard is this given that 100% of the herbivores are that way? A trike is not going to harvest meat and hides from a corpse. Why can't they just port that method from the herbis to the carnos and call it when you set them dinos to "do not harvest?"

Seems pretty simple to me but, I guess it depends how (badly) they have coded it.

And what are you supposed to do when your attacked by seekers near the elemental river and the corpses glitch about and end up in the river...watch your Dino rush into the water to die. It's a bug.
