Other than that, same rules apply as to most creatures - just get a high damage output creature with a high quality saddle, or a large pack of smaller creatures to whittle it down. I'd recommend against megalosaurus, as in my experience even without the damage nerf of daytime their DPS leaves a lot to be desired. Spino would be ideal, especially if you can fight it in or near water.
If none of those are available, get something big to tank, for example a trike (it's knockback will actually reduce the amount of damage it takes too, not just defense), and have damage dealers come up behind. A pack of ravagers could work if they're high level and mate boosted, or even other tanky herbivores.
If you can get it stuck in trees or stand on top of a cliff then you could take it with ranged weapons, but again you'd definitely need some kind of gas protection as it's breath would end you quick. If it's a high level it'd take a lot of ammo too, so be prepared for a long battle.
I have a spino with 480melee / 6k hp, if thats any good and best wep i have is a mc shotgun at the moment. And i aint been on this map for long just taking a break from lag etc on extinction and i wasnt aware of the hazmat head part which is gonna be very useful, thats what protects against the red mushrooms too isnt it!
thanks again
That shotty would do some pretty mean damage if you could get up close, but sadly to get close enough to be useful you'd probably have to be close enough for it to hit you back, which wouldn't be ideal on foot. If you had a tanky tame with a good saddle that you could use weapons on the back of, that may be a possibillity too though - say a turtle with a high def saddle or something. Only real issue then may be if your mount was tranqed before the basil was dead, as their bite does torp damage too...
I have all this info thanks so i have alot of planning to do ect :)
I would use the same wall height as used to keep spinos out of your base.
