Actually Carnos are Very Good augment to Base defense
they totally knock back Tough attacking Dinos ,when mixed in a pack of other Defenders ,like Rex
>giving your Dinos "free" shots at the Attacker(Trikes do it too,but ar to slow to keep up w the attack)
edit> Carnos hatch super fast too>so they are easy to replace cannon fodder ,that allow your best dinos to survive..if you send in the Carno 1st (just get a decent mated pair)
2: Brontosaurus - Used to be good, until it was nerfed into the ground, then nerfed some more. In PvE it made for a decent land caravan and mobile base with better carry weight/defendabilltiy compared to a paracer, and in PvP it was a mobile fortress which you could use to attack enemy bases. But now it's pitifully weak, and can't hit any small creature below it's feet because of it's attack box nerf. I have a screenshot in my gallery of three brontos fighting one raptor...the fight lasted for several minutes, and one of the brontos was almost killed. Now paracers are a far better mobile base, despite the loss of carry weight, because the bronto can't fight for tintoberries, and from what I hear few people bother to use them in PvP too. Bronto's need to be un-nerfed back to where they were before, then buffed a bit higher on top of that.
3: Diplocaulus - This is a great idea for a dino, allowing low level players to get a foothold in the ocean even before unlocking scuba. But there's a problem - because they only spawn in the swamp, and are killed by everything the moment they appear, they're practically impossible to get hold of for an advanced tribe, let alone new players. Something needs to be done to make them more accessible to the players who would want/need to use them. And while that is being adjusted, give them the same damage buff to eyurypterids that they have on trillobites, and make them good at harvesting black pearls too - give them a use way into lategame.
4: Dimetrodon - Broadly the same as the 'caulus above, a great dino for early/mid tier play to hatch eggs before a player has ACs, but because they spawn in the swamp and their torp drops stupid fast, they're way too difficult for the players whom they are designed for to get hold of. They too need to be made much more accessible.
Honestly it would be amazing if it was a shoulder mount just make it fall alot faster sort of like a parachute but slightly faster fall as right now what use do they have flyers, gliders and parachutes all out do them not to mention you gotta carry them around unarming yourself in the process.
Charlicotherium: Aka the beer drinker dino,
What purpose do these even have pve and pvp they take beer to tame which is too time consuming for single player and non-dedicated,
They dont seem to have the attack or health to be useful or be a good collector or anything outside of chucking dirt.
dimorphodon: aka the waste of space that helps the dragon dino,
Seriously do these even have Any purpose at all o.0
Most people i know just replace them with either meat eaters or something from another map as anything is more interesting and useful.
Gallimimus: The speed dino that trys to orbit planets,
Honestly above displays it's problem it has speed just it's turning is so terrible that if your not in a perfectly flat and straight area it's useless (yeah perfectly flat and straight that totaly explains most maps now days... ) Is it seriously too hard for them to fix it's planet orbiting even the wyverns make fun of it.
Pegos: aka that dino Every server deletes/replaces,
Seriously outside of stealing stuff from you do they even have a purpose outside of pvp.
While they are not very old i would like to see a tlc on the movement of the basilisk since it gets stuck Way too much,
On abberation light pets as they have 0 purpose off of abberation.
And i have 0 issues with anything on ext everything has purpose (some abit too much purpose)
Also compared to the vulture the dimorphs got nothing.
A high lvl dimorph chases me meh who cares,
A high lvl vulture chases me (pulls out the shotgun) "Your not breaking my armor again!".
Chalis are actually pretty good. Extremely powerful and mobile gun mounts, which makes them excellent for tanking creatures while you tranq them from the saddle. They are also one of my favorite berry gatherers, and until the Velosaurs came out they were the best PvE base defense dino out there. They are a massive pain in the neck to tame though.
For me, the most necessary dinos for a TLC are:
Diploducus- Should be self explanatory, the gimic is just useless
Wooly Rhino- Not actually bad right now, just so very boring, and not actually good enough for anyone to use them. When was the last time anyone was happy to see and acendent Wooly Rhino Saddle BP?
Pachy- Just a completely useless animal, it should be a lot bigger and a lot more useful
Mammoth- Same problem as the rhino
I never tame any of these creatures any more, because they are just so meaningless
80% reduction on wood in there inventory, id say that's rather big bonus compared to other wood gathers out there. It's certainly enough for me to use it with a quetz, i use them a lot still.
Even there health pool is huge bonus ...
Sure they dont have a lot of special tricks, but does a gathering dino really need more special things ?
