(currently in city witch isnt bad tell a wild 150 deffence drone spawns and recks your low level gacha who was genning metal/pearls rip for me but i learned not to build on the ground.)
Extinction as a PVE map is fun, as the orbitals, element veins and meteor are cool.
I would like to see the weather events from SE added to Extinction. Sand storms, etc.
Element is a little too easy to get, but that King Titan, is insanely hard. We got him to 50% before wiping (tamed ice titan to burn him to 85%, then he is stunned until the element veins are destroyed or he gets to 50% health, we keep him stunned, use mek shield to protect the gigas from meteors and eat him down to 50%....after that, we wipe, have not worked out how to survive the last 50% yet.)
To summon the Beta King Titan, you need an item that drops off the Gamma King Titan.
You can not use any mega mek on the gamma or beta King Titan. So how did you beat those two so you could fight the Alpha? Sure, on a test server, we can easy kill the Alpha King Titan with 2 Mega meks. But how to kill the gamma or beta version where no mega meks are allowed?
We could kite it with the megs, the gigas just died...I have yet to see any video that does not have cheats where someone has beaten in on offical. The last 50% is the issue. Taming the other titans too and sending them in does not help much. Guess we will see if we can get all three at once
I logged in to Ragnarok to compare them in scope and yeah, the feeling is very different.
Where Ragnarok is expansive, Extinction seems almost claustrophobic in the city and snow biomes.
Also, there are not a lot of beautiful landscapes, in such an understandably apocalyptic setting, you would imagine that some areas would shine in contrast, but not even.
I love the new dinos, titans and game concept with the drops, but something is really not cutting it for me.
The game also is not rendering properly, I have now fallen and gotten stuck in a city structure while riding a ptera as it seems I was too fast for the game to render and that was it, I had to reboot. and nope, no cheats on the ptera speed, the game is not truly optimized. Same goes for PS4 version
The new creatures, in particular, are quite a disappointment. Gasbag is fun to use, but not as versitile as many other dinos from other maps, and the velonosaur is powerful but only really useful long-range. And the rest of the creatures are largely forgettable - the megabananr in particular is a huge letdown, doesn't have nearly enough stamina to be in any way useful. The only creature that really catches my attention and is special enough for me to really want it on other maps is the scout drone.
The map is kinda cool - the city in partiuclar is nice - but I'm not all that into barren deserts and wastelands, and it doesn't have the same immersive atnosphere of Abs, nor the widely varied scenery of Ragnarok with it's many secrets to discover. It's not bad, but...meh...
